Dead Island 2 features a huge arsenal of powerful weapons, all of which come in handy in killing HELL-A's undead residents in unique ways. Weapon mods add elemental effects and make these makeshifts even more powerful than they already are.
However, if shooting zombies is more your style, thankfully, you can acquire several different guns in the game as well. Like its melee counterparts, you can attach weapon mods into guns to deal different elemental damages. But how exactly do you get guns in Dead Island 2? Read our guide to find out.
Where to find guns in Dead Island 2
You unlock guns in Dead Island 2 during the main quest, "Justifiable Zombicide," where you and Sam B infiltrate a Beverly Hills mansion to grab weapons.
From here on out, guns become a part of your arsenal, and like melee weapons, you can repair and mod them on a workbench.
You can obtain new guns by completing side missions, looting stashes, or buying them from traders. There are several gun types available in Dead Island 2. These include the likes of Pistols, Revolvers, Hunting Rifles, Assault Rifles, Shotguns, and more. Every weapon type has subtypes as well. For example, there is the short-barrel shotgun, automatic shotgun, and regular shotgun.
Unlike melee weapons, ranged weapons are more valuable. You can even sell low-tier guns for significantly higher prices to traders. Since you will find plenty of unique and powerful guns in the latter half of the story, it's best to sell the ones you're not using to the traders for some easy money. You will need it to fabricate superior-tier mods into your weapons.
That pretty much sums up our guide on how to get guns in Dead Island 2.
