After finishing the third story quest, "Bel-Air Brawl," talk to Carlos, the trader, who, you may recall from the first Dead Island game. Carlos has plenty of weapons, consumables, and parts for sale. However, what's most important for you to know right now is that he's also selling the blueprint for crafting Med Kits for free. Snag the blueprint from Carlos, and you're golden.
You can craft a Med Kit at any of the workbenches scattered across the city. Here are the items you will need to craft one Med Kit:

These are pretty standard resources, and you can find them pretty much anywhere in the game.
