Dead by Daylight is the most popular asymmetrical 4v1 horror game out there right now, and it is available on numerous platforms including Steam, PlayStation, Epic Games, and Xbox. While you'll need to pay for the game on some platforms, others allow players to access the game for free through a subscription service.
If you have Xbox Game Pass, you might be wondering if you can play the game using your Game Pass subscription so you don't have to purchase the game itself. Let's answer that question in this article.

If you are an Xbox Game Pass subscriber, you will be able to download and play Dead by Daylight for no extra cost. This applies whether you have the Standard or Ultimate subscription.
Xbox Game Pass Standard Vs Ultimate
Though you can play Dead by Daylight whether you have the Standard or Ultimate subscription, the Ultimate comes with some extra benefits.
For example, Behaviour recently ran a promotion where Ultimate subscribers got two cosmetics - one for a killer and one for a survivor - for free.
If you want to access most DLCs or cosmetics past those available in the base game, you will need to buy those with real-world money as they do not come with Xbox Game Pass Standard or Ultimate, save for the occasional gifts that come with Ultimate.
Per recent changes we covered in an article, you will also be able to purchase all non-licensed cosmetics with Iridescent Shards going forward, meaning you won't need to spend real-world money to get most skins.

You can subscribe to Xbox Game Pass on the official Xbox website.
