Ghostbusters: Spirits Unleashed is an upcoming asymmetrical action-adventure game by IllFonic, the developers of Friday the 13th: The Game.

Not a lot has been announced about the game since its reveal back in March 2022, but that has recently changed, with developers offering more news about what it will be like to play as a Ghostbuster or Ghost in the Ghostbusters universe.

Ghostbusters: Spirits Unleashed Gameplay

Ghostbusters: Spirits Unleashed puts players into the Ghostbusters world, allowing them to take on the role of one of the Ghostbusters in a team of up to four, or take on the role of a Ghost.

The Ghostbusters' gameplay is in first-person, in an effort to make the game more immersive. The Ghosts are in third-person, allowing them to manipulate the environment and terrorize the Ghostbusters more freely.

Unlike Dead by Daylight and other popular asymmetrical 4v1 games, the goal for the Ghostbusters in Ghostbusters: Spirits Unleashed is not to escape, but to capture the Ghosts and undo the damage and chaos they caused.

The reveal trailer gives a little taste of both the game's gameplay and story, referencing the original Ghostbusters franchise with its dialogue. It's impressive in its graphics, and the gameplay looks innovative and creative; it's hard not to be excited about this upcoming game by Illfonic.

Ghostbusters: Spirits Unleashed Release Date

The projected release date of Ghostbusters: Spirits Unleashed is 18th October 2022, just in time for Halloween 2022.

Ghostbusters: Spirits Unleashed will be available on the platforms Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.

Preorder Ghostbusters: Spirits Unleashed

Ghostbusters: Spirits Unleashed is now available for digital pre-order on Epic Games, PlayStation, and Xbox. The digital pre-order edition of the game costs $39.99 on all platforms, and all platforms offer the same features.

The digital pre-purchase edition of the game includes several bonuses, including advance access to the following features and cosmetics:

• Slimer
• Custom Particle Thrower and Proton Pack
• Special Clothing Colorways

The physical disc of the game will come with other cosmetics and bonuses, but these have yet to be announced. Stay tuned for more information if you have your eye on the physical edition.
