Dead by Daylight's 2022 Halloween event, Haunted by Daylight, has finally arrived. As part of the event, you'll need to collect Void Energy as both killer and survivor and deposit it into Unstable Rifts. By completing this task, you'll earn lots of extra Bloodpoints and get some cool cosmetics in the process.
Let's go over where to find Void Energy fast in Dead by Daylight so you can get those bonuses and make the most of the horror game's super fun seasonal event.
How To Get Void Energy In Dead By Daylight
Both killers and survivors can collect Void Energy to earn bonuses during the Halloween event in Dead by Daylight.

Each side has a different way to collect the Void Energy, but both survivors and killers will need to deposit it into the Unstable Rifts once they've collected enough of the substance.
Let's go over how to earn it for both sides.
How To Get Survivor Void Energy
To earn Void Energy as a survivor, you need to complete one of two objectives:
- Stun a killer who has Void Energy (3 Void Energy)
- Repair a Halloween generator (3 Void Energy per few seconds)
Once you've started repairing a generator for a few seconds, the Void Energy will start flowing. If you look at the indicator in the bottom left of your screen, you should notice the number increasing. You earn 3 Void Energy for every few seconds that you work on a generator.
To get the resource as quickly as possible, you can either focus on stunning the killer or instead ensure that your focus is on repairing generators.
Repairing generators are the safest route to gaining Energy. You might want to bring perks that help you find generators - like Felix Richter's Visionary - or ones that help you repair them faster - like Rebecca Chambers' Hyperfocus.
Note that you can also kick the pumpkins scattered around the map for a little bit of bonus Void Energy.
How To Get Killer Void Energy
Just like survivors, you can earn Void Energy in two ways as a killer:
- Downing a survivor who has Void Energy (3 Void Energy)
- Hooking a survivor on a Halloween hook (3 Void Energy)
When completing either of these actions, you will steal 3 Void Energy from the survivor you've downed or hooked.
Like survivors, you can also smash pumpkins around the map for a small chance of acquiring more Void Energy. They can also grant you a Haste status effect or extra Bloodpoints.
You shouldn't need to go out of your way to earn Energy as a killer, since your goal is to down and hook survivors anyway. You'll just need to ensure you deposit the Energy you earn regularly. Read on to learn exactly how to do that.
How To Deposit Void Energy
Once you've earned a total of 15 Void Energy as either survivor or killer, you'll need to find an Unstable Rift where you can deposit it.
These Rifts are found in random places around the map, and move after a while or immediately after any player uses them. Three of them spawn at any given time.
Each time you deposit Void Energy into an Unstable Rift, you'll receive a Haste status effect. The more Energy you deposit, the higher your Haste effect will be.
You can only deposit 30 Void Energy into the Unstable Rifts per match. Once you reach this upper limit, you won't be able to collect any more Energy, but you'll receive a hefty Bloodpoint bonus.
How To Find An Unstable Rift
To help you find the Unstable Rift, you can bring the survivor event offering called the Arcane Dowsing Rod.
Not only will it show you the Rift's glowing orange aura from anywhere on the map once you have 15 Void Energy in your possession, but it will also earn you extra Bloodpoints for completing event generators.
Void Energy Rewards
For each match in which you deposit 30 Void Energy, you will receive a cosmetic for either killer or survivor. There are a total of 12 Void Energy rewards you can earn this year.
Six survivors will receive Glow-in-the-dark Bones Shirts, while six killers will receive Sweet Death weapons. The Sweet Death weapons are unique, event-limited items designed after candies to celebrate the Halloween season.
The following characters will receive event cosmetics this year:
Survivors
- David King
- Claudette Morel
- Felix Richter
- Feng Min
- Jane Romero
- Yun-Jin Lee
Killers
- The Hillbilly
- The Twins
- The Plague
- The Trapper
- The Doctor
- The Nurse
You can earn even more limited-edition event cosmetics, including Kate Denson's Cornfield Scarecrow, The Hag's Swamp Creature, and several charms, from the Haunted by Daylight Event Tome, active now until 2nd November 2022.
