A 2v8 Resident Evil Mode Could be Coming to Dead by Daylight

Dead by Daylight's upcoming Dungeons & Dragons Chaos Shuffle mode might not be the only themed mode to come to the game, leaks suggest. Despite previous rumors that licensing issues might bar Resident Evil killers like Wesker and Nemesis from joining 2v8, it seems like they could be the subjects of the game's next iteration, according to lines datamined from the game's code.

A new Resident Evil 2v8 mode could also introduce the Raccoon City Police Department as a playable map when the limited-edition gameplay returns. Dead by Daylight's 2v8 mode allows players to select from a limited roster of killers and play only on certain maps optimized for 2v8 gameplay.

The leaks also include some interesting new items from the Resident Evil universe, including Yellow and Green Herbs. It's unknown what these items might do, but we can infer that they're likely survivor items that will offer small buffs to survivors, perhaps in the Resident Evil 2v8 mode.
