The Intel Extreme Masters (IEM) Katowice 2022 even marks yet another historic Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (CS:GO) esports event and is the first major tournament in 2022, with the Main Event running from 25th to 27th February.
The championship matches will go live at the Spodek Arena in Poland, hosting 24 of the world's greatest CS:GO teams, including prominent names like Gambit, Vitality, and Natus Vincere, who recently won the BLAST Premier.
Better still, the IEM Katowice 2022 boasts a massive $1 million prize pool, another point in the Intel Grand Slam, and high-octane CS:GO esports that fans love. IEM Katowice 2022 - Schedule and Format
There are three stages, namely: Play-In, Group Stage and Playoffs.
- Play-In Stage: 15th - 16th February
- Group Stage: 17th - 20th February
- Playoffs: 25th - 27th February
- 25/2 - Game 1 -15:30 CET
- 25/2 - Game 2 -19:00 CET
- 26/2 - Game 1 - 15:30 CET
- 26/2 - Game 2 - 19:00 CET
- 27/2 - Finals - 17:00 CET
IEM Katowice 2022 Play-In Stage
There are 16 teams competing in the Play-Ins. This stage will follow a double-elimination format, with the opening matches being played in a BO1. The remaining games are played in BO3. The top 8 teams in the Play-In stage will advance to the Playoffs.
IEM Katowice 2022 Group Stage
The Group Stage will comprise two groups of eight teams competing in a double-elimination bracket. All matches are played in a BO3, and the top 3 teams in each group will advance to the Playoffs.
IEM Katowice 2022 Playoffs
The Playoffs will see two teams seeded to the Semi-Finals and four teams seeded to the Quarter-Finals. All matches will be played in a BO3, except for the Grand Finals, played in a BO5.
