Boris “magixx” Vorobiev and Abdul “degster” Gasanov, members of Team Spirit, who currently are in Germany for IEM Cologne 2021, will be forced to quarantine until 19th July. It is a result of precautions taken by the German health service since both of them happened to travel to Cologne with an individual, who later tested positive for COVID-19.

magixx, as well as degster, are in good condition, and their tests turned out to be negative when they arrived. ESL underlines that the rest of Team Spirit hasn’t come in contact with any of the two, meaning that the remaining players will be able to compete from the area as per usual.
It’s not the first case of COVID-19 related complications at IEM Cologne 2021. Earlier this week, Heroic team members were forced to quarantine after one of its players turned out to be positive. Yesterday, before their opener at the tournament, they were released since the German authorities stated the test to be a “trace from the previous infection”.
Team Spirit returns to action at IEM Cologne today at 1:30 PM CEST versus FaZe Clan in the lower bracket round 1. The loser will be eliminated from the tournament.
