CSGO IEM Cologne 2022 - How to watch, schedule, format, teams, more

The IEM Cologne 2022 returns to one of the biggest stages in Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (CS:GO). The event features some of the best teams in the world competing for a massive $1,000,000 USD prize pool at the Lanxess Arena.

The journey to IEM Cologne is challenging for all teams competing. This makes sure only the deserving teams proceed to the champion’s arena. As passionate fans once again gather to spectate the brilliance of Counter-Strike, we have combined some of the most relevant information on the event for you.

CS:GO IEM Cologne 2022  - How to watch

The IEM Cologne 2022 will broadcast its games live on its official Twitch channel, which we have embedded below for your ease. Please note ESL may simultaneously broadcast matches on its alternative Twitch channels as well.

CS:GO IEM Cologne 2022  - Schedule and Format

The IEM Cologne will run its course from 5th-17th July 2022. ESL has not released the fixtures yet. However, we will update the dates once it is official.

The IEM Cologne has three phases in the tournament. The entire format is as follows:

Play-In (5th-6th July 2022)

The Play-Ins will take a couple of days starting from 5th July. It will follow the double-elimination format. Except for opening BO1 matches, all other games will be BO3. The top eight teams from Play-Ins will advance to the Group Stage.

Group Stage (7th-10th July 2022)

The IEM Cologne 2022 event will have two groups of eight teams each. It will follow two double-elimination format (GSL) with all games being BO3. The top three teams from each group will advance to the Playoffs. While Group stage winners will sit comfortably in the Semifinals, Group stage runners-up will advance to the Quarterfinals as the High Seeds. The Group stage 3rd place teams will qualify for the Quarterfinals as the low seed.

Playoffs (15th-17th July 2022)

The Playoffs feature a single-elimination bracket with the Quarterfinals and Semifinals being BO3. The Grand Final will be BO5.

CS:GO IEM Cologne 2022  - All Teams Competing

The IEM Cologne 2022 event will showcase 24 teams in CS:GO. Although the full list of teams competing in the tournament is not available yet, we have a few names who have confirmed their place in the event.

CS:GO IEM Cologne 2022 - Prize Pool Distribution

The IEM Cologne is one of the most reputed events featuring an enormous prize pool. Let’s have a look at the division of the prize money.

• 1st - $400,000   

• 2nd - $180,000

• 3rd-4th - $80,000 (TBD)

• 5th-6th - $40,000 (TBD)

• 7th-8th    $24,000 (TBD)

• 9th-12th - $16,000 (TBD)

• 13th-16th - $10,000 (TBD)

• 17th-20th - $4,500 (TBD)

• 21st-24th - $2,500 (TBD)
