Most of the BLAST Premier Fall Groups 2024 matches on the first day of play went as many Counter-Strike 2 (CS2) fans would expect, except for one. Thanks to a tight match that could have gone either way, Team Vitality fans were kept on the edge of their seats.
In Group A, Team Vitality (ranked 4th globally) faced GamerLegion (ranked 28th) in what was supposed to be a rather easy win for Dan "apEX" Madesclaire's squad. GamerLegion, however, had other ideas.

GamerLegion came out of the gate swinging on their map pick of Anubis, beating Team Vitality 13-10. On Vitality's map pick of Mirage, things also didn't go as planned, with GamerLegion forcing Team Vitality into an overtime situation as they attempted to avoid the 2-0.
While Vitality fought for their lives, it was Israeli lurker, Lotan "Spinx" Giladi, who made the difference and topped the leaderboard, as you can see via the image above.
In the end, it was The Chosen One, aka Mathieu "ZywOo" Herbaut, who finished off proceedings on Mirage in the 38th round on the B site defense to beat GamerLegion in overtime and push it to a third and final map.
Vitality then secured victory with a rather clean 13-5 win on Dust2, as it seemed GamerLegion just ran out of steam.
However, Lotan "Spinx" Giladi was the best-performing player in the entire match, with a 63-43 kill/death score and an HLTV player rating of 1.40.
