Call of Duty: Mobile Season 9, entitled: "Nightmare," is finally live and includes a batch of new spooky content and gameplay feature adjustments, including the return of the "Standoff" multiplayer map, a new "Sawmill" map, a new "Dropzone" multiplayer mode, new Perks and Scorestreaks.
There is, of course, also a shiny new battle pass, in addition to a menu of weapon balance changes and a new "Flash Drone" tactical unit. Activision has also introduced two new weapons to COD Mobile: the Swordfish assault rifle (AR) and, coming up later in the season, the Thumper.
Activision did not change many weapons in the sniper or marksman rifle class. Activision only nerfed the MX9 in the COD Mobile battle royale mode this season, in addition to the CR-56 AMAX, M13 and KN-44 assault rifles and the UL736 and S36 light machine guns in survival and multiplayer modes.
With that said, our sniper tier list has few changes. Based on the meta, here's our updated sniper or marksman rifle tier list at the start of COD Mobile Season 9.
COD Mobile Season 9 sniper tier list
If you didn't know, snipers and marksman rifles are long-range weapons that shoot with incredible damage. They are often concealed by enemies or used at a distance that exceeds the target's ability to detect a threat.
Note: Our tier lists are not an exact science; however, we do strive to make our sniper list as accurate as humanly possible.
Description of the tiers
- S-Tier: Even without the perfect loadout, the S-Tier sniper in COD Mobile Season 9 is considered the best of the best. You can't go wrong.
- A-Tier: These snipers can compete with those in the S-Tier when equipped with the right attachments or loadout that suits your playstyle.
- B-Tier: Snipers in this tier can still pack a punch with the perfect loadout and should be considered average.
- C-Tier: You will require the perfect loadout to make this sniper sing like a bird. These snipers are only effective in specific situations or for particular playstyles.
- D-Tier: Not exactly total garbage but perhaps you'd want to avoid them in the current meta.
Sniper tier list
There is a total of 12 snipers and marksman rifles in COD Mobile Season 9.
Fortunately, the present patch notes did not yield any weapon or balance changes relevant to this weapon class, so we've updated our list based on each weapon's performance in the meta.
S-tier snipers:
- DL Q33
- MK2 Carbine
- Locus
The DLQ33 is the strongest sniper rifle in COD Mobile, with incredible 1-shot killing power. The DLQ33 deals about 207 damage to the head or about 135 damage to the upper chest from up to 40 meters away. It does, however, require some skill to use.
The Locus, on the other hand, deals similar damage (209 headshot damage, 142 upper chest damage) and is best used as a quick scoping gun for aggressive playstyles.
A-tier snipers:
- Rytec AMR
- SPR 208
The Rytec AMR and SPR 208 are consistent alternatives to the S-tier guns mentioned above. The Rytec AMR does high damage but suffers from high recoil and poor mobility. The SPR 208, on the other hand, is a bolt-action marksman rifle that demonstrates high precision and mobility, and it also boasts excellent damage and range.
B-tier snipers:
- SKS
- Kilo-Bolt-Action
The SKS is a solid marksman rifle that was introduced earlier this year. The gun boasts great 2-tap killing potential. In addition, the SKS boasts severe damage and accuracy, with a decent damage range but requires the perfect loadout to truly shine. It's not terrible, but there are certainly better weapons that you could use.
C-tier snipers:
- Arctic-50
- Outlaw
D-tier snipers:
- XPR-50
- M21 EBR
- NA-45
We would suggest that avoid the guns as mentioned above. They demonstrate some of the poorest stats in the sniper or marksman rifle class, with the lowest damage.
That completes our list of the best snipers, including marksman rifles in COD Mobile Season 9, ranked from best to worst. If you disagree with our list, be prepared for even more disappointment in our Assault Rifle, Light Machine Gun, and SMG tier lists for COD Mobile Season 9.
