The release of Season 4 of Call of Duty: Mobile is set to mark a key change in the way the game is played with huge changes being made to different weapons and weapon types with, for instance, many of the game's LMGs now being less viable at close-to-medium range but excelling at long range, which was previously not the case.
It's all pretty exciting stuff, promising to improve the game's gunplay and make more weapons viable. However, there is one major drawback to all these changes, as many players will find there their previously trusted loadout is no longer packing the punch it once did sending them looking for a new gun capable of dominating.
And if you are one of those people then help is at hand, as we have compiled the best weapons from each category (plus a few notable entries) to help you settle into COD: Mobile Season 4.
Best weapons in COD: Mobile Season 4
Below are the best weapons in Call of Duty: Mobile from the start of season 4 with the five main weapon classes represented.
Assault rifles - AK-47

The AK-47 has always held an esteemed place within the Call of Duty community and it still ranks as one of, if not the, best assault rifles in Season 4.
Capable of inflicting the most lethal of blows and now with improved damage at greater ranges the AK-47 has never been a more potent weapon.
Notable options: Man-O-War, AS VAL, DH-R
SMGs - QXR
The QXR was introduced in Season 13 and has proven a popular choice in the SMG category. (Picture: Activision Blizzard)
Sub-machine guns are one of the most changed weapon classes in the game they now pack more punch in CQB and also offer up increased mobility making them the best weapon for a run-and-gun style. They also have increased accuracy at longer ranges making them mini-assault rifles in a pinch.
With this in mind, the best SMG in Season 4 is the QXR. This SMG has been a popular choice for while now and three separate buffs that help it at range make it even more viable at the outset of Season 4.
Notable options: PP-19 Bizon, Razorback
Sniper rifles - Locus
The Locus is an absolute beast in Season 4. (Picture: Activision Blizzard)
The Locus is everything you want in a sniper rifle. Insanely accurate and with high damage output, the locus has been dominating COD: Mobile lobbies since it was added in the original Season 2 update.
And with no nerfs to speak of, and the new MK2 Carbine not quite dethroning it, it looks set to continue to do that in Season 4.
Notable options: MK2 Carbine, DL Q33
LMGs - M4LMG
(Picture: Activision Blizzard)
One of the weapon classes with the most drastic stat changes is the light-machine guns with almost all of them receiving substantial buffs to improve their ability to suppress at ranges over 30m.
With that in mind picking the best one isn't easy, and it may well prove to be the case that in the weeks ahead as more experimental loadouts are stress-tested that other LMGs rise to the top. Having said that at the moment the M4LMG appears to be the heaviest hitter.
The changes made to this gun make it much more effective at close and medium range and with the right loadout you have a viable alternative to your favourite assault rifle.
Notable options: RPD
Shotguns - KRM-262
The KRM-262 has proven itself over several seasons. (Picture: Activision Blizzard)
When it comes to shotguns there has been one stand out in the last few seasons and that is the KRM-262, and in early tests and that doesn't look like changing.
The KRM-262 is a shotgun fan's dream gun with ample range and a tight spread this gun has real one-shot potential at close-to-medium range.
