Modern Warfare 3 offers players 36 different weapons, exploring a variety of playing styles and strategies. Although Modern Warfare 3 has some great weapons on offer, some don't quite make the cut. Thankfully, we've got you covered with a weapons tier list.
Note: this tier list only includes new MW3 weapons, not transferred Modern Warfare weapons.
MW3 Weapons Tier List: S-Tier
The S-Tier weapons in Modern Warfare 3 have no limits, boundaries, or faults in most combat situations. Players who use these weapons will experience little hardship on the battlefields of MW3:
- MCW
- FR 5.56
- BAS-B
- STRIKER
- MTZ-762
- RENETTI
The FR 5.56 and RENETTI may come as a surprise to most, these weapons are excellent for both fast-paced encounters and longer-distance fights. Despite the RENETTI having a somewhat poor range, it can finish enemies in a heartbeat with its strong burst of rounds.
MW3 Weapons Tier List: A-Tier
A-Tier weapons are used by most players on a more regular occurrence, these are the guns that will see you through most situations. However, they don't quite achieve the "perfect" status of the S-tier weapons due to minor and unnoticeable setbacks:
- MTZ-556
- SVA 545
- KATT-AMR
- WSP-9
- SIDEWINDER
- STRIKER 9
All Battle Rifles in Modern Warfare 3 obtain A+ status within this tier list because they have very few faults. The Battle Rifles enable players to have complete reign over their competition with incredible confidence and lack of mercy.
MW3 Weapons Tier List: B-Tier
B-Tier is where the standards start to lower, these weapons provide loyal companions on the battlegrounds but they have their downsides. Whether the weapons have slow aim-down sight speeds or just have terrible handling, they can still put up a fight:
- KVD ENFORCER
- MCW 6.8
- HOLGER 26
- RIVAL-9
- AMR9
- RIVETER
Shotguns usually don't appear above the C tier; the RIVETER allows players to have an optimized shotgun experience through light handling and a great fire rate.
MW3 Weapons Tier List: C-Tier
The C-Tier weapons are the last "excusable" guns to be used within Modern Warfare 3. These weapons typically have a very specific use and arent very adaptive:
- COR-45
- HAYMAKER
- LOCKWOOD 680
- MTZ INTERCEPTOR
- KV INHIBITOR
- LONGBOW
Sidearms are always overlooked by the Call of Duty community, hence why we felt it was necessary to mention the COR-45 in the C-tier because it's earned it.
MW3 Weapons Tier List: D-Tier
D-tier weapons are where the chaos begins; online players screaming down their mics at you, enemies wiping the floor with you, and slow reload times. These weapons are quite simply the beginning of the end:
- BRUEN MK9
- DG-58 LSW
- PULEMYOT 762
- DM56
- HOLGER 556
- DG-58
Unfortunately, the DG-58 and HOLGER 556 are separated from the rest of the assault rifles, this is due to the low mobility of the rifles and awkward designs.
MW3 Weapons Tier List: E-Tier
E-tier weapons have always felt rather useless, contributing very little to the team's objective and spirit. These weapons are likely used to complete challenges, nothing more:
- WSP SWARM
- GUTTER KNIFE
- KARAMBIT
The knives are fun to use, however, they contribute very little to the team environment. The WSP SWARM doesn't feel like it has enough ammo, even with an extended magazine.
MW3 Weapons Tier List: F-Tier
F-tier weapons are available for players to either meme or blow off some steam. These weapons don't add any value to matches, they just cause havoc for both you and the enemy:
- RGL-80
- WSP STINGER
- TYR
The TYR is just too heavy and inconsistent, being very frustrating to use in almost every situation.
