How to find and destroy a Mercenary Convoy in Modern Warfare 3 Zombies

There are all kinds of events, missions, and enemies you have to contend with in Modern Warfare 3 Zombies. If you want to get through the Act 1 story missions, you will eventually be given the task of destroying a Mercenary Convoy and then picking up a Stronghold Keycard from that convoy. If you don’t really know what to look for, however, this task could take you quite a while. Here is how to find and destroy a Mercenary Convoy in Modern Warfare 3 Zombies.

How to find a Mercenary Convoy in MW3 Zombies

Unfortunately, Mercenary Convoys do not appear on the map. Instead, you will need to get lucky and encounter them before another squad in the game destroys them. The best way to find a Mercenary Convoy is to search along the highway that loops around the outer edge of the second-tier zone. There are some spots where it goes into the lower difficulty area, but for the most part, it is within the orange area.

We recommend finding a vehicle and just driving along the highway. As you drive, pay attention to your minimap. You will see three red truck icons appear in a row. This is a Mercenary Convoy, so be ready for a fight. If you see only one armored truck, that is Knight, and while he can be tough to take on, he does not count towards this challenge.

How to destroy a Mercenary Convoy in MW3 Zombies

Before you go to take on a Mercenary Convoy, we recommend having some explosives. For the easiest time dealing with these enemies, a Ray Gun can help you overpower them. If you can barrage the trucks with those and blow them up, this fight will be a lot easier. Other than that, prioritize taking cover and popping out to shoot at the mercenaries or any zombies that come to attack you. Once everything in the area has died, look around the convoy to find the Stronghold Key. It can be in one of the trucks, or one of the mercenaries will drop it on death.
