In Modern Warfare 3, there are 12 game modes to choose from, each offering varying objectives for players to complete in order to win the match:

In general, the best modes for raking in the XP are ones that can house more players, leading to faster-paced matches. This usually means more opportunities for kills and more objectives to complete. With that in mind, the best game modes for earning XP fast are:

• Ground War
• Invasion
• Kill Confirmed
• Search and Destroy

Ground War is effectively a larger-scale version of Dominion, giving plasyers five flags to capture during a match and more opportunities for kills. Taking down an opponent near one of the five flags offers more XP than anywhere else on the map, making it a great way to earn XP fast.

Invasion is all-out chaos at its finest, with plenty of players and AI opponents to take down. These matches are pretty fast-paced, too, allowing for plenty of multiple kills if you're efficient enough.

Kill Confirmed is a fan-favorite. Players have plenty of opportunities for kills in this mode, and will also earn XP for picking up dropped tags. Search and Destroy might be a little slower paced than the other modes listed, but it offers a bigger XP payout for each kill.
