Warzone Assault Rifle tier list - Every AR ranked from best to worst

The world of Call of Duty: Warzone contains over 80 primary weapons a number boosted by the relatively recent integration of Black Ops Cold War arsenal.

That integration and the release of Season 1 shook up the Warzone meta more than we had seen in the past, the wonky synchronisation of attachments and loadouts from both games didn't help with hidden buffs and nerfs becoming apparent, and flat out broken mechanics which made it hard to work out how things truly worked

However, many of those bugs have been ironed out, and certainly, the game feels more balanced than in those couple of weeks where the MAC-10 and DMR-14 dominated lobbies.

We have previously taken a look at sniper rifles and SMGs, and now we turn our eye to the game's most popular category that is, of course, Assault Rifles, home to the M4A1, Kilo 141, and CR-56 AMAX.

But which one is the best? We rank them all so you don't have to.

Warzone Assault Rifle tier list 

For the purpose of this tier list, we have combined both categories together to rank the best Assault Rifles in Warzone.

The rankings include all weapons from Black Ops Cold War and is accurate up to the mid-season update for Season 1. 

Description of the tiers

We have opted for a standard five-tier system, S to D.

S-Tier: The absolute best Assault Rifles in Warzone.

A-Tier: The correct loadout will help this Assault Rifle compete with the best.

B-Tier: In the right hands or in certain scenarios this Assault Rifles is very capable.

C-Tier: A personality pick, maybe you feel confident with it, or you run a loadout that is perfect but ultimately this gun will leave you wanting compared to others higher up the list.

D-Tier: Garbage tier - don't waste your time.

Remember tier lists are not an exact science. This tier list just gives you an idea of the general power of the game's Assault Rifles as they stand in the today.

S-Tier:

• CR-56 AMAX
• Kilo 141
• Grau 5.56

The best of the best even with the wrong attachments these Assault Rifles will still do the job.

A-Tier:

The M4A1 is an iconic Call of Duty gun and it can still mix it with the best. (Picture: Activision Blizzard)

• RAM-7
• M4A1
• XM4

Get the right attachments on these bad boys and you will quickly start wracking up the kills in Verdansk.

B-Tier

The stub-nosed Cold War AK-47 is a decent weapon in a pinch. (Picture: Activision Blizzard)

• AK-47 (Modern Warfare)
• AK-47 (Cold War)
• AN-94
• FFAR 1

These will need a bit of work, the right attachments and perks will be key, but ultimately you can get them in a place that they are workable.

C-Tier:

• FAL

Hard to recommend these weapons. Unless they match perfectly with your playstyle give them a miss.

D-Tier:

This weird-looking gun is as bad as it looks. (Picture: Activision Blizzard)
