Best AK-74u loadout in Black Ops Cold War

During the beta for Black Ops Cold War, the AK-74u dominated every facet of the game. It was effective at any range and for any situation.

Naturally, Treyarch recognised this and tweaked the gun to where it was a little less overpowered. This adjustment opened up the field for guns like the MP5 to outshine the AK-74u. 

While it’s not the same as it was in the beta, the AK-74u is still a great weapon to use in Black Ops Cold War.

Like with all guns in the game though, the right set of attachments is key to ensuring you have the best chance in every gunfight.

The one thing currently bogging down the AK-74u is its bullet velocity. Simply put, the gun doesn’t shoot fast enough to compete with the MP5 or most of the assault rifles. So with this particular class set-up, that will be rectified with a key attachment. Also, the set-up will feature some other elements to beef up the weapon’s strengths. 

Attachments: 

• Optic: Microflex LED
• Barrel: 9.5” Paratrooper
• Underbarrel: SARS Jungle Grip
• Handle: Serpent Wrap
• Stock: Wire Stock 

Built for speed and aggression, this set of attachments is great for pushing the opposition and rushing around the map. With the Wire Stock and Serpent Wrap, you won’t have a problem getting your gun up and firing quickly.

In terms of fixing the fire rate issue, the 9.5” Paratrooper takes care of that, adding 100% extra velocity and also bumping up your ADS.

If there was something you could replace with this loadout, it would be the optic. The Microflex LED is a terrific sight but the AK-74u does feature some solid iron sights.

If you wish to take advantage of the base sight, you can add in the Muzzle Brake 5.56 to gain some additional recoil control.
