Currently, in Black Ops Cold War, there appear to be two sectors forming when it comes to secondary weapons. One sector uses shotguns like a primary weapon and for close-range situations. While it’s a little annoying for the players on the other side, the shotguns can be quite effective but only for certain spots on any given map.
The other sector stands by the 1911 pistol. Although it’s been a horrid secondary in years past, Treyarch has allowed the 1911 to really shine in Black Ops Cold War. It’s well worth it to level the weapon up to gain access to the high-tier attachments.
Of course, you’ll still need some inside knowledge to know which attachments to pair together.

The 1911 pistol is about as "basic" weapon that exists. It shoots at average speed, kicks slightly, and has excellent mobility. However, what separates the 1911 from other pistols is its damage output. Able to kill an enemy in two to three shots, this secondary can save you in any matter of situation. Although, it can be also used as a second primary weapon with the right set of attachments.
Attachments:
Optic: Quickdot LED
Muzzle: Muzzle Brake .45 APC
Barrel: 6.45” Reinforced Heavy
Magazine: 12 RND
Handle: Speed Tape
The above loadout is mainly for players who want a competitive advantage over others. This class can be used effectively in competitive play and mow enemies down in standard playlists.
However, if you want to have some fun with the 1911, you can throw on the Dual Wield attachment in the Stock category.

While this will require some serious levelling up, there aren’t too many things more enjoyable in Black Ops Cold War than running around with two 1911 pistols in your hands.
