Saint Patrick's Day is approaching and Black Ops Cold War developers Treyarch will celebrate this occasion with a special game mode.
While we often see many real-life celebrations represented in modern video games in a form of events, for example, Christmas or Lunar New Year events, to our knowledge, this is the first time that a high-profile franchise will commemorate the famous Irish national holiday.
Saint Patrick's Day celebration is held on 17th March, but the occasion will be celebrated in Black Ops Cold War throughout the whole week starting 11th March up until 18th March.
But how exactly will Treyarch implement Saint Patrick's Day in the game?

While not exactly as huge as some other events based on real-life, Saint Patrick's Day day will bring a brand new game mode for players to enjoy over the course of seven days.
This multiplayer mode is called St. Patrick’s Stockpile, and as you might have guessed, it is based on a fan-favourite Stockpile mode from Black Ops III, which also made an appearance in Black Ops 4, renamed Fracture.
As developers say, the mode comes to Black Ops Cold War "with an Irish twist".
Players will be collecting Shamrocks, either from their enemies to deliver them to the Pot o’ Gold and earn points for their team, or they can collect them from the bodies of their fallen teammates, which will not bring points for the team, but it will deny enemies chance to collect them and score points.
The win condition is simple: The first team to reach the score limit wins.
If this sounds exciting to you, then make sure to play the mode as much as possible during the event, as this is a limited-time mode.
St. Patrick’s Stockpile will become available on 11th March at 10 am PT / 1 pm ET / 7 pm CET.
