While it’s not the best tactical rifle in multiplayer, the DMR 14 is certainly an underappreciated weapon.
Black Ops Cold War currently features four tactical rifles, with the M16, AUG, and Type 63 filling out the rest of the class. At the moment, the M16 and AUG dominate the category and Black Ops Cold War as a whole. The three-round burst rifles are two of the most overpowered weapons in recent memory.
With guns like that in the DMR 14’s class, it’s easy to see why many players haven’t touched this tactical rifle. However, with the right attachments, the semi-automatic rifle can be lethal in its own right.

As with any semi-auto weapon, your trigger finger is going to ultimately be what determines how lethal the gun is. If you have a fast trigger finger, you can fire off more shots and there’s a better chance two to three will hit an enemy.
However, if you don’t have the quickest fingers, some attachments can be used on the DMR 14 to make up for that.
Attachments:
- Optic: Axial Arms 3x
- Barrel: 17” Rapid Fire
- Underbarrel: Field Agent Foregrip
- Handle: SASR Jungle Grip
- Stock: Raider Stock
Focusing on balance, this class isn’t really built for one particular playstyle. Instead, there are a few attachments that allow you to play a variety of ways and still succeed. Although, with the Axial Arms 3x scope, you’d be better off playing a little further back rather than in enemy’s faces. If you wish to rush around the map, you can swap that sight for a red dot sight.
In regards to the rest of the class, the 17” Rapid Fire barrel is the key element. Allowing the DMR to shoot faster, using this attachment helps to put down enemies quicker.
We’ve paired that with some recoil enhancing attachments as well as the Raider Stock for any time an enemy comes up close and personal to you.
