With Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Zombies entering its final weeks, fans and Treyarch are eagerly looking ahead to the arrival of Season 2. To give players a glimpse of what’s to come, the developers have unveiled key details for Zombies Season 2. These include a brand-new map called Tomb, the long-awaited co-op pausing feature, and several other quality-of-life improvements. Let’s break down all the details below!

Treyarch Reveals New Tomb Map for Zombies in Season 2

Many of us were expecting a new Zombies map for Season 2, but we didn’t anticipate any details until closer to the release. However, in a recent developer blog post celebrating Day 115 of Black Ops 6, Treyarch surprised us by revealing the upcoming map, The Tomb, which will launch on January 28th, 2025, the same day Season 2 kicks off.

Set in an excavation site filled with tunnels and an ancient burial ground, The Tomb promises an exciting new experience. Treyarch noted, “We crafted The Tomb to provide an experience similar to Liberty Falls, featuring tighter play spaces with a focus on replayability. Just like in Liberty Falls, we’re delivering plenty of side Easter eggs and even a reimagined Wonder Weapon inspired by our past. That’s all we’ll say about that for now.”

The map will also build on the Zombies lore, continuing the story from Citadelle Des Morts. As previously mentioned, there will be new weapons, abilities, and content for players to enjoy. Of course, many more details are yet to be revealed, so we’ll update you with a full breakdown as soon as we get more information.

Co-Op Pausing and More Quality of Life Features in Season 2

In addition to the new map, the blog post also highlighted several quality-of-life improvements coming to the game in Season 2. Among the new features are the long-requested Challenge Tracker, AFK kickout, loadout recovery, and separate HUD presets for Zombies and Multiplayer.

Season 2 will also bring exciting quality of life changes, including the highly anticipated Challenge Tracker and the addition of co-op pausing in Zombies mode. (Picture: Activision)

However, the most exciting addition for many players is co-op pausing. This means the host of a Zombies match will be able to pause the game, triggering a 15-minute timer before the game automatically resumes. Treyarch specifically mentioned, “In matches where everyone is in the same party, the party leader will now be able to pause the game for everyone to regroup on strategy or take a snack break during those high-round runs. We know this one’s been requested since launch, and we’re excited to get it in with S02.”

Fans were quick to express their excitement about this feature, as it adds a lot of flexibility to the Zombies experience. Pausing the game allows players to take a break, plan their next steps, hydrate (please hydrate), and generally have a more relaxed and enjoyable time instead of being locked into non-stop gameplay.

So, right now, there’s a lot to look forward to in Season 2 of Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Zombies - from the new map to the quality of life updates, and of course, the content Treyarch likely hasn’t even revealed yet. Be sure to check back for more updates, and we’ll see you all as we get closer to the release of Season 2!
