The Tomb has finally arrived in Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Zombies, bringing with it a special main quest to tackle. As expected, completing this quest rewards players with exciting prizes and progresses the overall BO6 Zombies storyline. If you're eager to dive into the new map and complete the quest, we've got you covered. This guide will walk you through all the necessary steps to complete the Main Quest Easter Egg in Black Ops 6 Zombies: The Tomb.

The Tomb Main Quest Easter Egg Guide - Unlocking and Upgrading the Staff of Ice

To begin the main quest on The Tomb map, players must first craft the Staff of Ice. Follow our guide here to easily build it. Once you have the Ice Staff, the next step is to upgrade it, which requires a few specific actions as detailed below:

Freeze Purple Crystals and Lanterns

  • Look for a group of three purple crystals close together, or shoot scattered ones to make them appear closer. Use your Ice Staff to freeze all three within ten seconds. If you're unable to do so, find three new crystals or reposition the ones you're using. If you're in a group, you can split up to complete this faster. Once successful, your character will voice a line to confirm the step is done.

Shoot Dark Aether Rocks and Memorize the Symbols

  • Enter the Dark Aether and find floating rocks with purple symbols. Shoot them with your Ice Staff to lower them. Memorize the symbols, as they will change each game and are needed for the next step.

Reopen the Portal

  • After completing the Dark Aether Rocks step, one of the four Doors to Nowhere will be locked. Leave the Dark Aether via another portal and head to the Tomb. The Sealed Door to Nowhere will now have eight purple symbols. Use the Ice Staff to shoot the three symbols that match those from the Dark Aether rocks to reopen the portal.

Escort and Fill the Orb

  • You’ll now see a purple orb in the sky. Interact with it to start escorting the orb. If you're in a squad, all players must be in the Dark Aether and escort the orb together. While escorting, stay close to the orb and kill any zombies that spawn to charge it. Once it reaches the altar, interact with it to upgrade the Ice Staff into Ull’s Arrow.

The Tomb Main Quest Easter Egg Guide - Completing the Statue Trials

The next step in the main quest is to complete the statue trials scattered across the map. Each trial can only be completed after upgrading the staff. Here’s a breakdown of each trial:

Vermin Trial

Location: To the right of the altar, near the Vermin statue.

Steps:

  • Equip Ull’s Arrow (the upgraded Ice Staff) and switch to its alternate fire mode.
  • Fire the healing blast at the blue crystal near the Vermin statue to ignite it with purple fire.
  • Interact with the flames to collect the energy.
  • Travel to the Dig Site and find another glowing purple Vermin statue. Deposit the energy there.
  • Kill the Vermin enemies that spawn to complete the trial.
  • Once completed, retrieve the energy and return to the Dark Aether.
  • While holding the energy, avoid taking damage, then deposit it back into the original Vermin statue in the Dark Aether.

  6. Deposit the energy back into the original Doppelghast statue.

  • Interact with the energy to claim it, then go through the red portal.
  • Head to the Deep Excavation (near Quick Revive) and place the energy into the Amalgam statue.
  • Defeat the Amalgam boss zombie that spawns. During the fight, the Amalgam may gain a shield by tethering to a nearby enemy - kill that enemy to remove the shield.
  • Once the fight is over, retrieve the dark energy and return to the Dark Aether.
  • Deposit the energy back into the Amalgam statue without taking damage.

The Tomb Main Quest Easter Egg Guide - Reaching the Final Boss

After completing the final trial, four beams will shoot into the sky, lighting up a new doorway. This door leads to the final boss, who is one of the most challenging bosses in the current Zombies map lineup.

Preparing for boss
Once all the trials are complete, beams will appear, guiding you toward the final boss, which you'll need to be fully prepared to defeat. (Picture: YouTube / MrRoflWaffles)

Before heading into the boss fight, make sure you're fully prepared:

  • Max out and Pack-a-Punch your primary weapon.
  • Acquire all perks or use Perkaholic.
  • Craft a Self-Revive and stock up on Boss Fight GobbleGums like Phoenix Up and Shields Up.
  • Craft a Mutant Injector, equip Dead Wire Ammo Mod, and bring two Cymbal Monkeys or LT53 Kazimir tactical for additional support.
  • If possible, equip Golden Armor for extra protection against smaller enemies during the boss fight.

Good luck to all players attempting the main quest on The Tomb map in Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Zombies!
