Ranked Play has been a highly anticipated addition to Call of Duty: Black Ops 6. However, now that it’s live, it’s already facing a familiar issue common to many live-service FPS competitive modes: cheaters.

The problem has quickly garnered widespread attention, with reports surfacing across platforms like Reddit, X, and popular streamer chatrooms. Let’s explore the details and take a closer look at the current state of cheating in Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Ranked Play.

As Expected, BO6 Ranked Play Is Being Plagued With Cheaters

Ranked Play is now live in Black Ops 6, with players able to join by completing 50 multiplayer wins to qualify. Designed as a fun, highly competitive mode where players can battle for supremacy, it has been plagued by cheaters since its launch. Numerous clips showcasing the chaos have surfaced on platforms like X and Reddit, highlighting the growing frustration among the community.

This issue is exacerbated by the fact that Ranked Play offers a more restricted experience, with a tighter map and mode rotation, along with better rewards compared to regular, non-ranked multiplayer playlists. Not only are cheaters making the mode more punishing, but they’re also undermining the prestige of earning those sweet rewards, especially for players who manage to pull off clutch kills.

The backlash from fans has been vocal, with many taking to social media to express their frustration. Chris ‘Parasite’ Duarte, one of Call of Duty's first world champions, tweeted, "HACKERS HACKERS HACKERS HACKERS HACKERS HACKERS EVERY GAME WHERE IS THE ANTI CHEAT @Treyarch?"

Other players have echoed similar sentiments, with one user saying, "Ranked in BO6 just came out today and cheaters already have the #1 ranked skin," while another shared, "First game of ranked, 4-stack of cheaters…. It. Is. Chalked."

Ricochet, Activision’s anti-cheat system, isn’t doing enough to stop cheaters, who are aim-botting and blatantly ruining the experience for everyone. While this isn’t a huge surprise to many, players are hopeful that Activision, Treyarch, and Raven Software can address the issue soon. Many are eager to dive into Ranked Play, but not if it means facing off against stacks of cheaters locking in instant kills.
