When Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 was first announced, one of the standout features that generated excitement was the introduction of a new movement system called Omnimovement. As movement plays a crucial role in action FPS games, this became a major selling point for the title.

Now that the game is out and players are adjusting to Omnimovement, the developers have shared some insights into whether this feature will remain a staple in future Call of Duty titles.

In a recent interview with Dexerto, Black Ops 6 developer Miles Leslie discussed the future of Omnimovement, specifically whether it would be a staple in upcoming titles. While he couldn't provide a definitive answer, his comments were optimistic.

In a recent discussion, a Black Ops 6 developer hinted that Treyarch is eager to explore the limits of Omnimovement, suggesting its potential future inclusion. (Picture: Activision)

Leslie shared, "Only speaking for Treyarch and Black Ops here, we’re [obviously] big fans of Omnimovement and truly believed in its potential since we first started the [concepting] phase. It’s been inspiring to see players pulling off so many incredible plays with Omnimovement every day, and we’re sure we haven’t seen the limits of its potential yet."

While this isn’t an outright confirmation, it suggests that Treyarch sees potential in continuing to explore Omnimovement, especially if future Call of Duty games align with its vision. Of course, the feature's inclusion will likely depend on the direction of the next title - after all, if it's a futuristic game like Advanced Warfare, Omnimovement might not be the focus, though some rumors suggest it may be included (see tweet below).

For now, the answer is inconclusive, but the sentiment is positive. I’ve grown to enjoy Omnimovement in Black Ops 6. Mastering its mechanics for complex plays has been a fun challenge, and if it's featured in the next Call of Duty, I’m sure many players, myself included, will feel right at home.
