Season 2 of Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 is shaping into a bombshell, packed with exciting new content and features. Zombies mode, in particular, stands out as it will not only introduce a new map, The Tomb but also debut the iconic Ice Staff Wonder Weapon. If this has you as excited as we are, let’s dive into the details of the Ice Staff’s arrival in Black Ops 6 Zombies Season 2.

The Ice Staff Wonder Weapon Is Set to Make Its Return in the Tomb Map of Black Ops 6 Zombies During Season 2

For Black Ops 6 Zombies veterans, you’ll likely remember that the iconic BO2 Origins map introduced four elemental staffs as Wonder Weapons: the Ice, Fire, Wind, and Lightning Staves. Now, it’s been confirmed through gameplay footage that at least one of these legendary weapons, the Ice Staff, will return in Black Ops 6 Zombies Season 2.

You might be wondering if the other three elemental staffs will make an appearance in the new Tomb map as well. While we can’t say for certain, it’s unlikely. The previous map, Citadelle Des Morts, introduced four Elemental Swords as its Wonder Weapons, so it seems Treyarch may be opting for quality over quantity this time around, focusing on a single, powerful Wonder Weapon like the Ice Staff.

The Black Ops 6 Ice Staff is shown to fire ice blasts that slow or freeze enemies in place, a classic ability fans will remember. The trailer also hints that the staff can be used as a melee weapon, although its primary strength will likely come from its elemental powers.

Ice Staff Abilities

Additionally, the footage reveals that players can perform a dramatic slam attack with the Ice Staff after twirling it, creating an Area of Effect ability to deal with hordes of zombies. Even more intriguing is the tease that the staff can heal teammates from a distance with a precision shot. While details on this feature are sparse, it’s likely tied to a special ability that charges as players rack up zombie kills, so you’ll want to make every shot count to unlock its full potential.

For those dedicated enough to complete the Tomb map’s main quest, there’s a bonus: the exclusive X91 Ice-Pike skin for the Ice Staff, which can be earned at any point after Season 2 launches. Thankfully, players won’t need to finish the Easter Egg to get the Ice Staff itself, as it will be accessible early in Season 2, even before Directed Mode becomes available.
