Slide Cancelling is a well-known mechanic across Call of Duty, allowing players to quickly switch up their movement from sliding into shooting. The name refers to the cancelling of the sliding animation in order to hop back up into the fight quicker.
Players that use it effectively have seen results across plenty of CoD titles, including Warzone, and it has its uses in the franchise's Multiplayer modes.
How to Slide Cancel in Black Ops 6
Fortunately, slide cancelling is back in Black Ops 6, which is a huge relief given the game's reliance on omnimovement. In order to slide cancel, quickly press the crouch button two times then jump and sprint. This will work regardless of platform but you'll just need to check your personal keybinds.
If you're playing on PlayStation, for example, and using the default button mapping, your button sequence will be: Circle + Circle + X.
This will cancel you out of the sliding animation, and have you jumped up in the air for quick mobility and ADSing. It's a crucial technique to learn if you plan on making full advantage of Black Ops 6's fast-paced omnimovement.
Recently, Treyarch have been making adjustments to some of the launch features found in Black Ops 6, including the hotly debated Recon Combat Specialty which allowed users to highlight enemy locations for a short time immediately after respawn.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 launched on October 25, 2024 across PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
