So just how detailed is Vampire The Masquerade Bloodhunt? Well, in a new PlayStation Blog post, Sharkmob's Global Community Manager, Jaqub Ajmal, explains: "Our vision was to create a representation of Prague that was as true-to-life as possible. Being able to achieve this of course requires a lot of attention to detail. Therefore, we sent our photogrammetry team to the Czech Republic, to source real-life assets that are now replicated in-game.
"We took more than 10,000 pictures and scanned real-life items, all unique to Prague, such as two massive statues: the Jan Hus Memorial, and the statue of Charles IV, located at Křižovnické Square. Once converted into the game, this resulted in thousands of unique textures and assets, bringing the details of the city to life with an authentic flair."
If the expected level of detail and the PS5 graphics modes for Vampire The Masquerade Bloodhunt isn't enough to get your blood boiling, we've got some more good news for you.
Vampire Bloodhunt PS5 3D Audio
With the expansive city of Prague as the playground for Vampire The Masquerade Bloodhunt, the developers know just how important 3D Audio is for hunting.
To this end, if you have high-end headphones such as the PS5's Pulse 3D, the audio in Vampire Bloodhunt will be spectacular.
With the PlayStation 5's Tempest 3D Audio tech, the developers were also able to highlight Vampire Bloodhunt's verticality, improving possibilities of audio spatialization. Basically, you will be able to hear if an enemy is above or below you, with precision.
The developers explain: "Whether your enemies are sniping from the rooftops or a high rising tower crane you will be able to determine their location more accurately. While hunting through the rainy streets of Prague, pinpointing enemy locations through audio has never been easier."
DualSense PS5 adaptive triggers for Vampire Bloodhunt
The PS5's DualSense controller with its adaptive triggers and feedback has been one of the greatest additions of this console generation, and Vampire The Masquerade Bloodhunt takes full advantage.
The game's fast-paced, visceral gameplay is taken to the next level of immersion thanks to the DualSense controller.
Sharkmob explains: "The DualSense controller’s adaptive triggers and vibrations allow us to make you truly feel the weight of the battle as you experience the impact of each powerful attack and weapon. As an example, shotguns have a heavy kick and trigger pull, while submachine guns can be tapped more easily but with a more intense jolt."
Furthermore, the DualSense controller's light on the PS5 guides players through the game, lighting up based on your team's colour, and it even signals when you are tracked down by your opponents. Lastly, the DualSense controller's speaker on PS5 makes "high fidelity sounds" for when you are feeding on mortals in Vampire The Masquerade Bloodhunt, or using consumables.
