In the meantime, some creators have taken the initiative of providing their own brand of content, in the form of a parody title. If you're waiting on the next Battlefield 2042 update and looking for a good laugh, check out this hilarious alternative from Riverside Sports.
Here's everything you need to know about Clownfield 2042, the hilarious new parody of Battlefield 2042.
Clownfield 2042 spoof title - Battlefield 2042 parody
Sticking with the futuristic theme of Battlefield 2042, Clownfield 2042 takes a slightly different storyline. The premise is truly hilarious, Riverside Sports states it as: “After a 2022 cryptocrash caused by NFT’s and a majority of nations collapsing, a union of 'No-Clowns' has been formed. You are one of them, arm up and get ready for war.”
Clownfield 2042 also features its own comical game mechanics, like "mediocre weather." To further drive home their point, Riverside Sports trolled the EA DICE title by saying, "why play the game like it's meant to be played, when you can hop into hovercrafts and slay all your enemies?”
Clownfield can be purchased for an extremely low price of just £0.71/$0.60 on Steam and it will certainly entertain you while you wait for any sign of movement from EA DICE on Battlefield 2042.
Current Clownfield 2042 features include:
- Three Maps [War Island, Paradise City and The Heat]
- Six Weapons [2 Assault Rifles, 1 Handgun, 1 Sniper Rifle, 1 Rocket Launcher and 1 Shotgun]
- Three Game Modes [All Out Clownfare - Free for All with AI, Hovercraft Zone - Hovercraft vs. AI, Clownfield Gateway - Adjust ingame properties to play the way you want to play]
- Weather Events [Physics driven Tornado System across all maps]
- AI System [Pretty basic but good enough for the moment]
The developers finish it off with a comment that we couldn't help but chuckle at, stating below the game's listed features: "And bugs, per usual, plenty of bugs. We'll let you enjoy them as is; and instead of fixing them, we'll just release some new skins."
