Baldur's Gate 3 is on the cusp of getting its full release, with the game scheduled to launch on PC on August 3, 2023. For years now, Baldur's Gate 3 has been in partial, early access release, with multiple updates and changes having been rolled out throughout its development. This early access version was available across PC, macOS and Stadia (until the end of Stadia's service), but never for PlayStation 5. In a welcome turn of events, Baldur's Gate 3 will be getting a PlayStation 5 release, but it'll be arriving a little later than the PC version.
If you're eager to jump into the Dungeons & Dragons-esque RPG on console, then PS5 could be your best bet. An Xbox Series X|S port is also on the wa but, as for PS5, here's when you can expect Baldur's Gate to launch.

When Does Baldur's Gate 3 Launch On PS5?
Baldur's Gate 3 will launch on the PlayStation 5 on September 6, 2023. This marks just over a month after the PC release on August 3. Previously, both versions of Baldur's Gate 3 were expected to launch on August 31, 2023. The PC version was bumped up by almost a month, while the PS5 release saw a week delay. Developers Larian Studios cited the reason for the delay being to ensure that the PS5 release could hit 60fps, though only in single-player.
Will Baldur's Gate 3 Release On PS4?
Sadly, Baldur's Gate 3 will only be launching on Sony's current generation console. PlayStation 4 players will be missing out on this one, with a last-gen release currently not on the cards. Given that extra work was needed to ensure Baldur's Gate 3 would run at 60fps on the PS5, it's no surprise that the title won't be seeing a PS4 release.
Both Baldur's Gate: Enhanced Edition and Baldur's Gate II: Enhanced Edition, a remastered version of 2001's Baldur's Gate II: Shadows of Amn, are currently available on the PS4. If players are looking to get their Baldur's Gate fix, but don't currently have a PC or PS5, then these titles could be a reasonable alternative for the time being.
