ARK Survival Ascended Waypoints: How To Use?

While exploring the expansive and perilous island in ARK Survival Ascended, you'll encounter various points of interest that you might wish to revisit later. Instead of relying on memory to recall these locations, the game provides waypoints that allow you to mark these Points of Interest (POIs) on the map.

How To Use Waypoints in ARK Survival Ascended?

Waypoints in Ark Survival serve as equivalent markers found in other games, enabling you to designate specific locations such as structures, resources, and dinosaurs during your exploration. This feature provides the convenience of revisiting these marked points at your convenience. 

However, using waypoints in ARK Survival Ascended may seem straightforward. Yet, it can be slightly obscured due to the game's clunky user interface and, at times, unclear instructions on menu navigation.

In essence, to utilize waypoints in ARK Survival Ascended, you can simply press the "M" key twice. This action opens the advanced version of your map, allowing you to place waypoints. Alternatively, you can access the Inventory by going to the Map section at the top, double-click on the desired location, and the add waypoint screen will appear.

Within this screen, you have the option to choose the icon, color, and name for your marker in Ark Survival Ascended. If you wish to remove a waypoint, reopen the advanced map, click the "Waypoints" button at the bottom left, and select the trash can icon next to the marker you want to delete.

And that's essentially all there is to it. Open the expanded map by pressing the "M" key twice at the location where you want to add your marker, double-click on the point for the waypoint, and specify the name, icon, and color of the waypoint in the ensuing window.
