New content is on the horizon for ARK: Survival Ascended players with the arrival of Aberration, bringing an array of new creatures, resources, and items to enhance your survival experience. Additionally, Bob’s Tall Tales returns in Aberration under the new title Steampunk Ascent, adding even more exciting content.

One of the latest additions is the Stopwatch, a game-changing item that introduces a fresh way to approach gameplay. In this guide, we'll show you how to craft the Stopwatch and explore the impactful uses this new gadget offers in ARK: Survival Ascended Aberration.

How To Craft The Stopwatch In ASA Aberration

Note: The Stopwatch is only available for players who have purchased the Bob’s Tall Tales DLC addon.

The Engram for the Stopwatch unlocks once players reach level 99 and have Bob’s Tall Tales activated. It requires 27 Engram points, which might feel a bit steep, especially in the later stages of the game when XP is harder to come by. However, it’s well worth the investment, as you’ll soon discover.

Stopwatch Uses In ASA Aberration

The Stopwatch is essentially Aberration’s teleportation device, though it does have a few limitations that we’ll cover shortly. Here’s a basic rundown of how it works: you set a spawn location while holding the Stopwatch, which creates a large sphere or barrier around that point.

Stopwatch How It Works
When activated, the Stopwatch creates a checkpoint area, and upon reactivation, it teleports you back to that location. (Picture: YouTube / Teachers Game Too)

When you move away from the spawn point and press the button, you’ll be instantly transported back. However, if you move beyond the boundary of the spawn location, you won’t be able to teleport back. Essentially, it works within a spherical radius around the spawn point.

This limitation is a drawback since you might find yourself outside the teleportation range, but the benefits outweigh the cons. The area covered is quite large, and with strategic use, you can perform extensive resource gathering and set your save point nearby or high up. If you encounter a dangerous dinosaur, you can quickly blink away to safety.

Stopwatch Uses in game

The Stopwatch also offers tactical advantages in PvP scenarios. For example, you can set a beacon outside a base, run in to drop some C4, and teleport back out. This is just one of many strategies you can employ with the new Stopwatch.

Now that you know how to craft a Stopwatch and understand its uses, keep in mind that it does have cooldowns, so you can’t spam it. However, with careful timing, it can be a lifesaver during your adventures in Aberration.
