With the holidays coming up, it can be tempting to keep an eye out for deals and new games that could be a great way to spend the season or something to dive into next year. For many who have waited to dive in, their attention might be grabbed by the recently released WWE 2K23 Bad Bunny Edition.
While it's huge that Bad Bunny gets another look on the WWE 2K23 roster, the bundle itself is an overpriced mess. We'll tell you why to avoid the WWE 2K23 Bad Bunny Edition while still adding him to your game for a lot cheaper.
Don't Buy the WWE 2K23 Bad Bunny Edition
It's undeniably exciting that Bad Bunny is immortalized in WWE 2K23 as a playable character. The international megastar just released the new album 'Nadie Sabe Lo Que Va a Pasar Mañana' a few weeks ago, and now his iconic WWE Backlash appearance has been added as a playable version of the character.
The problem is that they're charging $139.99 for the WWE 2K23 Bad Bunny Edition when the game came out nearly eight months ago. By all accounts, the WWE 2K24 launch is still expected to arrive in early 2024. You can find deals all over the place with WWE 2K23 heavily discounted, and that's only going to increase between now and Black Friday.
Despite what the excitement around it might imply, the WWE 2K23 Bad Bunny Edition isn't actually the debut of his playable character. Bad Bunny was included as a pre-order bonus for the game (also purchasable post-launch with the Bad Bunny Bonus Pack), they're just adding his Backlash attire, a Puerto Rico-themed LWO shirt, and some MyFACTION stuff.
For $139.99 you'll get WWE 2K23 along with the Bad Bunny Edition Bonus Pack, Bad Bunny Bonus Pack, Ruthless Aggression Pack, Icon Edition Bonus Pack, Season Pass, and Deluxe Edition Bonus Pack. If we break that down, players not worried about a few cards in MyFACTION can disregard Icon Edition and Deluxe Edition packs entirely as well as chunks of some of the others.
All of the other packs which actually include playable characters can be purchased separately, and some of them can be snagged when other editions get discounted. For example, the WWE 2K23 Deluxe Edition on PS4 and PS5 and on Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S is 60% off right now for just $39.99, and it includes the Season Pass and Bad Bunny Bonus Pack, which are individually available for $39.99 and $9.99 separate of the game.
You could easily snag WWE 2K23, potentially even the Deluxe or Icon Edition, at a heavy discount in the coming weeks and simply tack on an extra $9.99 for the Bad Bunny Edition Bonus Pack which includes his new Backlash look. Now could be a great time to snag WWE 2K23, especially for players not intendeding to buy WWE 2K24 as soon as it's released, but the WWE 2K23 Bad Bunny Edition is not the way to do it.
