How To Unlock Higher Tiers of Delves in WoW The War Within — Blizzard

One of the most exciting aspects of venturing deep into the subterranean region of Khaz Algar is Delves, a main feature of World of Warcraft (WoW)'s The War Within expansion, offering bite-sized endgame experiences with content fit for one to four players. We've already outlined the location of all Delves so heroes of Azeroth can start earning rewards, and now it's time to look at unlocking the different tiers.

Brann Bronzebeard approves of WoW players diving deeper and deeper into Delves, unlocking higher tiers, and earning a wealth of rewards, including progress in the Great Vault system. Let's delve in!

WoW Delves: Unlocking All Tiers

As you level up through The War Within's campaign, you can already do delves with your old trusty pal, Brann Bronzebeard, and your friends if you so choose. The first time you enter a Delve, it will start at Tier 1, and no other Tiers will be available. Once you complete a Delve, the next Tier of that Delve opens up.

Sounds simple enough, right? Well, here comes the caveats. Only the first three Tiers (out of 11) are available as you level up. Even if you beat Tier 3, you won't unlock Tier 4 of that Delve until such time as the requirements below are met.

Reach level 80 on a character.
Complete the campaign.
Minimum gear iLevel of 548 in each slot

Once you meet these requirements, you'll earn the achievement called War Within Delves: Endgame. With Tier 4 Delves unlocked, every time you finish one Tier, another will unlock up to Tier 11.

Please Note:Tier 4 and higher Delves become available to those who've completed the requirements on 10 September 2024, at the start of The War Within Season 1.

Tiers open for all characters in your Warband. Players who party with others will note that all party members must have unlocked the Tier they wish to take on as a party. For example, if you want to do Kriegval’s Rest on the Isle of Dorn at Tier 7, but one person in the party has only finished Tier 5, the maximum your party can do is Tier 6.

Delve Tiers Item Level Requirements in War Within

Delve Tiers have recommended minimum item levels for players to achieve so they can complete these experiences. It is, however, not requirements, but recommended suggestions, meaning you can do Delves of higher tiers without meeting their requirements. Check them out below.

Delve Tiers and their recommended item levels are the same for all Delves in The War Within. At Tier 9, you've reached the maximum reward level, so Tiers 10 and 11 are for those who are chasing top-level achievements.
