Digital Extremes has revealed juicy new details on Warframe's upcoming cinematic arc, Whispers in the Wall, in its latest devstream 175. In addition to revealing more info about its story, the setting, and the new weapon Grimoire weapon, the studio also unveiled prominent details about the game's much-anticipated cross-save progression feature, the 55th Warframe Qorvex, Gauss Prime, and more.
For those unaware, Warframe: Whispers in the Walls was officially revealed at TennoCon 2023 as part of the game's big December update, alongside its 2024 sequel Warframe 1999.
Whispers in the Walls is shaping up to be a massive update for Warframe. Narratively, it puts the spotlight on the Entrati family, particularly, the renowned scientist Albrecht Entrati and his mysterious lab that kicked off every event in the game.
Players will get to explore the new hub zone - The Sanctum, play two new mission types - Alchemy and Netracells, interact with a friendly Necraloid, wield the new secondary weapon - Grimorie, fight a new enemy type - Murmur, and unravel secrets that have eluded fans for a decade.
More importantly, the events of Whispers in the Walls will pave the way for future adventures in the Origin System. "Storytelling is the heart and soul of Warframe," said the game's creative director, Rebecca Ford, in the press release for Whispers in the Walls. She continued, "Our most memorable experiences as a team, and with our community, have centered around building this incredible world and taking big risks to continuously push ourselves creatively. We did not hold back with Whispers in the Walls - this Update will light the flame on our next narrative arc and take players on an evocative journey that sets the stage for a new decade of adventures in the Origin System."
