Developer Stoic announced their free-to-play (F2P) action RPG Towerborne in June 2023 in partnership with Xbox Game Studios as the game's publisher. Since then the game was released through Steam Early Access on 10th September 2024 and is currently enjoying its successes following its release.

As Xbox Game Studios are publishing the game, its release for Xbox consoles and Windows PC would be inevitable, but it was a matter of when it would occur. Luckily, the developer provided an update on Towerborne's eventual Xbox release in their latest developer post, in which they announced the release date for its Xbox launch, which will be arriving soon.

Following Towerborne's release through Steam Early Access, the F2P action RPG has seen five major game updates, which saw bug fixes, new game adjustments, optimizations, and content added to the game. The latter is true as the game's developer added new missions, localization support (new supported languages), cosmetics, boss fights, weapons, and gear while the combat system, UI, key bindings, and several gameplay features were fine-tuned to enhance players' in-game experiences.

While the developer confirmed that Update 6, which the main focus of the update is on Class Mastery, is arriving to Towerborne on 29th April 2025, they've also confirmed that the game will "be expanding to a new platform, too!" A recent developer post announced that Towerborne will be heading to the Xbox platform on 29th April 2025, alongside Update 6, and is available to be added to their Wishlist.

According to the developer, Towerborne will be available to all the "soon-to-be Aces" on Xbox Series X|S consoles and Windows PC via the Xbox app, but additionally, they can also get the game via Xbox Game Pass day one. Likewise, the game will be launching for the Xbox platform as "an Xbox Play Anywhere title," which confirms cross-platform play support; however, as the game is still in Early Access, Stoic cannot confirm the game's "official 1.0 launch" as of writing.
