After a less than ceremonious split, a large majority of the staff working at the Escapist have decided to move in a different direction. While this was a huge blow for many, in particular, it was sad to see the departure of Yahtzee, who had been producing content under the guise of Zero Punctuation for about fifteen years. Because Yahtzee did not have the right to Zero Punctuation, it, unfortunately, meant the end of his beloved character and series.
Thankfully, the team behind the Escapist has announced their plans moving forward. Yahtzee Croshaw and Nick Calandra have unveiled that they and several others will be continuing to make content under the new umbrella of Second Wind. You can check out the tweet below:
From the team behind The Escapist, we're excited to announce our next adventure, Second Wind.@nickjcal and @YahtzeeCroshaw will be live tomorrow at 11 AM CT to discuss our plans, where to support and when our first content will drop.

According to the YouTube channel, Second Wind will be focused on "creating content that's informative, interesting and fun, and everything that you came to expect from the team behind The Escapist."
Nick and Yahtzee will be conducting a live stream on the Second Wind YouTube channel to field any questions from the public on November 8, 2023.
While it is a little sad to see the Escapist team depart in such a fashion, it is very nice to see that they are landing on their feet with no plans of slowing down.
