Stunlock Studios' newest vampire survival game, V Rising, which launched on Early Access on 17th May 2022, stole the hearts of fans and surged in popularity worldwide. Just days following the game's launch, the developers reported hitting a major milestone of 1 million sales, and now, V Rising is among the most-played games on the platform.
V Rising ranked as Steam's best-seller by revenue
Upon release, the PC-exclusive title drew a peak of 46,000 concurrent players, later skyrocketing to an all-time peak of 150,000 players. Therefore, it should be no surprise that V Rising is currently ranked the top seller on the Steam Weekly Global Top Sellers charts.
V Rising ranked 1st place for the week ending 29th May 2022, topping popular game titles Elden Ring (3rd), FIFA 22 (4th), and No Man's Sky (9th); not bad for an early access title that was released just two weeks ago.
While the game is (understandably) home to several bugs, these have been addressed with the rollout of minor hotfix patches. Among these changes included general client optimizations to improve stability and in-game performance.

Interestingly, Stunlock Studios didn't expect the game to blow up as well as it did, particularly not after its first-ever game release. In an interview with IGN, V Rising's community manager, Jeremy Fielding, said: "I absolutely did not expect this many people [...] I don't think anybody expected it to be quite this big."
Accordingly, Fielding revealed that the company had been working on V Rising for roughly three years, and despite initially revealing the game in May last year, nobody seemed to bother. "It took a lot of people a long time to start to take notice," added Fielding.
Well, it's clear that this isn't the case any longer. We expect V Rising to continue on its current trajectory and can't wait to see what else Stunlock Studios have to share in future major gameplay updates. As an Early Access title, V Rising has continued to impress, leaving high hopes for the game's full release version.
V Rising is currently a Windows PC-exclusive game title, retailing for $19.99 on Steam.
