Stranger Things has become a pop culture phenomenon in the past few years, and this ever-growing popularity caused Netflix to crash at the launch of its latest season.
Stranger Things Season 4 Volume 2 continues to break several viewership records, and while Stranger Things Season 5 will conclude the ongoing storyline, Netlfix has revealed its plans to tell more stories set in the Stranger Things universe.
The creators of Stranger Things, Duffer Brothers, have confirmed two Stranger Thing spinoffs. Here's everything we know about them.
Stranger Things spinoffs - Everything we know
One of the two upcoming Stranger Things spinoffs is a live-action based on an original idea by The Duffer Brothers.
The project is being produced by Upside Down Pictures, a new Pproduction company by The Duffer Brothers, which is also working on a live-action adaptation of the popular anime series Death Note, a TV adaptation of Stephen King's and Peter Straub's The Talisman (that's also cleverly referenced in the Stranger Things Season 2 Volume 4 finale.)
Sadly, that's all we know about this upcoming live-action Stranger Things spin-off. The other Strange Things project is a stage play, which is being helmed by producer Sonia Friedman and director Stephen Daldry, known for their works on Billy Elliot: The Musical and The Reader. Netflix has yet to reveal the cast for both of these upcoming projects.

As for Stranger Things Season 5, The Duffer Brothers have confirmed they will start writing the last season in August 2022. While a release window has yet to be confirmed, the show's timeline suggests a 2023 or 2024 release.
It's too early to predict whether these Stranger Things spin-offs will release before Season 5 or not, though we do know that it will be radically different from the ongoing series and won't feature characters like Eleven, Dustin, and Steve.
As for the latter, The Duffer Brothers have confirmed that Season 5 will be relatively short and fast-paced, with more action and less narrative buildup.
