In the last few weeks, SNK has presented their first gameplay of The King of Fighters XV, in which both Shun’ei and Meitenkun from KOF XIV were confirmed as part of the roster for the new title.
In its mission in presenting an attractive roster for players, the company has confirmed that it will bring back popular fighters which will form teams for the game, while also confirming the arrival of a classic fighter of the franchise: Benimaru Nikaido, the Shooting Star.

Benimaru, voiced by Atsushi Maezuka, was officially introduced as one of the fighters the new game, returning with his classic moves and his electric powers to combat.
In addition to this, it has been confirmed that Benimaru, Shun’ei and Meitenkun, will join forces for the first confirmed team in The King of Fighters XV: Team Hero.
The story behind this is, due to Shun'ei continuing his training in the new instalment after defeating Verse, he will enter a new tournament together with his friend Meitenkun, who also seeks to become more powerful. It is here where Benimaru will offer to mentor these young fighters, after being forced by Kyo Kusanagi.
The King of Fighters XV will be released in 2021, with more announcements around fighters, teams and stages to come in the following weeks.
