Sons of the Forest Modern Axe Map Location

While you’re out exploring, make your way west of the mountain. Not far from the location of the 3D Printer, you’ll find an abandoned camp. Here, you’ll discover a brutal mess and a random assortment of things like Meds, Ammo, vodka bottles for Molotov Cocktails, and other useful items. 

One of these tents at the campsite will have a dead Merc leaning up against it. The Modern Axe in Sons of the Forest will be buried in the Merc's chest. Next, walk up to him, look at the axe, and hold the "E" button to pick it up. This will add the Modern Axe to your inventory and allow you to start chopping away like you’ve never chopped before. 

The Modern Axe is a great tool and will one-hit-kill various enemies. For example, the smaller mud-coated scouts are no match against it. In fact, neither are the more humanesque enemies, though if an enemy has a painted face, they’re less likely to be taken down easily, even with a heavy attack. That said, using the Modern Axe against trees is where it really shines, as it cuts the time it takes to clear forests roughly in half.
