Whilst the Rocket League Championship Series is taking a well-deserved break, that doesn’t mean that car soccer at the highest level imaginable is off the table.
Thanks to Samsung who has partnered with renowned organisers, observers and personalities like Callum “Shogun” Keir and John "Johnnyboi_i" MacDonald, we are getting even more Rocket League during the offseason.
Similar to the Intel World Open, this event will be held online, regionally and amongst plenty of high-level nations.
From scheduling and format to how to play in it yourself, here’s everything you need to know about the Rocket League Samsung Odyssey League.
Rocket League Samsung Odyssey League dates
The Rocket League Samsung Odyssey League will be held from 23rd July to 29th August 2021. Here’s a breakdown of the three phases the tournament will go through:
- Open Qualifiers (23rd July - 2nd August)
- Regional finals (7th August - 15th August)
- European finals (27th August - 29th August)

Rocket League Samsung Odyssey League format
The Rocket League Samsung Odyssey League will be held across the following formats and under the following rules:
Open qualifiers format:
- Double elimination
- Best of five
- Top 4 teams qualify to the Regional finals
Regional finals tournament format:
- Top four from qualifiers.
- Single elimination.
- Best of five.
- First place qualifies for European finals.
European finals tournament format:
- Day one:
- Two groups of five
- Best of three.
- Round robin.
- Top two teams of each group qualify for day two
- Day two:
- Four teams qualified from group stage.
- Double elimination.
- Best of five.

Rocket League Samsung Odyssey League eligible regions
The Rocket League Samsung Odyssey League will have the following countries/regions eligible for participation:
- Austria and Switzerland
- Benelux – Belgium, Netherlands and Luxembourg
- France
- Germany
- Italy
- Iberia – Spain and Portugal
- Nordics – Sweden, Norway, Finland and Denmark
- Poland
- United Kingdom
- Rest of Europe – Romania, Bulgaria, Greece, Hungary, Czech Republic, Kosovo, Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Serbia, Montenegro, Macedonia, Slovenia, Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania

The top four teams from each region will go through to the Regional Final of which the winner will advance to the European Championship, representing their region.
Rocket League Samsung Odyssey League prize pool
The Rocket League Samsung Odyssey League will have the top teams from each region meet in the European Finals to play for national bragging rights and their share of the €25,000 prize pool, distributed as such:
- 1st Place: 15,000 EUR
- 2nd Place: 7,500 EUR
- 3rd Place: 1,750 EUR
- 4th Place: 750 EUR
