The Capcom Showcase featured plenty of information for Resident Evil fans to enjoy, including the reveal of the long-awaited Resident Evil Village DLC, titled Winters' Expansion.
The expansion comes with story content, Shadows of Rose, updates to The Mercenaries game mode, and a more classic third-person perspective which has been used for other Resident Evil titles.
There's plenty of stuff to sink your teeth in if you're a Resident Evil fan so let's not keep you waiting.
Resident Evil Winters' Expansion - Release date
The Winters' Expansion will come to Resident Evil Village on 28th October. For players that already own a copy of the game, the expansion will be available as a standalone purchase.
If you've yet to play RE Village, a new edition with all content, dubbed "Gold Edition" will also launch on that same date. Speaking of content, let's take a look at what you can expect when the DLC debuts.
RE Village Shadows of Rose - Story
If you've yet to play Resident Evil Village, massive SPOILERS ahead. You've been warned.
The story of Shadows of Rose will take place 16 years after the ending of Village, in which Ethan sacrifices himself to destroy Mother Miranda, saving her daughter and Mia in the process.

Mercenaries DLC - Play as Lady Dimitrescu
The action-oriented The Mercenaries horde mode included with Resident Evil Village will also receive an update, including the release of three new characters:
- Chris Redfield
- Heisenberg
- Lady Dimitrescu
Resident Evil Village - Third person mode
The final piece of the Winters' Expansion includes a reimagining of Resident Evil Village's main story in third-person. Other than fixed camera perspective in its first games, the third-person viewpoint has become a staple of the franchise, barring Ethan Winters' story in Resident Evil 7 and Village.
It's worth noting that the Shadows of Rose DLC is entirely in third-person.
Resident Evil Winters' Expansion - Cost
