The Pokémon Company announced that Pokémon Horizons will be broadcasting in the United Kingdom arriving this December. The announcement revealed that it secured a broadcasting partnership with the BBC as it will be available on BBC iPlayer and CBBC, respectively.
While no dates have been confirmed as of writing, this announcement should delight avid UK Pokémon fans who have wanted to follow this brand-new journey. The series first premiered in Japan in April 2023, as it was previously unavailable for English audiences to watch or stream the episodes outside Japan.
The announcement that Pokémon Horizons will be available to English audiences was announced in a social media post on the Pokémon UK accounts on 9th November 2023. This was accompanied by a teaser trailer, which is available on The Official Pokémon YouTube channel as fans will finally begin their new adventures with dual protagonists Liko and Roy and their Pokémon, Sprigatito and Fuecoco.
The brand new series is the first in the mainline entry after The Pokémon Company announced that Ash Ketchum and Pikachu had their epic journey conclude after 25 years of battling. Ash and Pikachu’s arc reached peak heights for fans after he had finally succeeded in his ultimate dream goal: becoming the Pokémon World Champion.
Pokémon Horizons is set in the Paldea region, the exact location of the current Pokémon game, Scarlet and Violet, with plenty of new faces and plenty of more intense battling. According to the official series description for Pokémon Horizons, some of the interesting people and Pokémon they’ll encounter include Friede, Captain Pikachu, and the Rising Volt Tacklers.
“Pokémon Horizons: The Series is set to be a thrilling journey that explores new wonders and makes fascinating discoveries about the Pokémon world.” As mentioned before, we don’t know the official dates and times that Pokémon Horizons will be available on BBC iPlayer and CBBC, but rest assured, trainers, we will provide future news and updates on this development as they become available.
