The live event, Pokémon GO Safari Zone: Goyang, is currently underway at the Ilsan Lake Park in Goyang, South Korea. In addition to the event-exclusive gameplay and content, Niantic and The Pokémon Company have announced another gameplay activity available during the live event.
Trainers now have access to exclusive Timed Research, available from 24th and 25th September 2022 in Pokémon GO. This guide details all the Timed Research challenges announced and the rewards earned for the Pokémon GO Safari Zone: Goyang live event.
All Pokémon GO Safari Zone: Goyang Timed Research Challenges
Developer Niantic announced the event-exclusive Timed Research challenges that Trainers can complete during the Safari Zone: Goyang live event via the official Pokémon GO Twitter and Niantic Support accounts.
Trainers, this event will begin on Saturday, September 24 at 8 a.m. local time and last until Sunday, September 25 at 8 p.m. local time. https://t.co/Ow4vLvS4tw

The challenges will be available from 24th September 2022 at 8 am local time and finish off on 25th September 2022 at 8 pm local time. It’s worth noting that Timed Research challenges are different from Special Research Tasks; once Trainers complete a challenge, it disappears after a specific timeframe.

Below, we’ve detailed the event-exclusive Timed Research challenges to complete and the rewards which are being offered:
- Explore for 1km: Encounter with Spritzee
- Explore for 2km: Encounter with Spritzee
- Explore for 3km: Encounter with Spritzee
- Explore for 4km: Encounter with Spritzee
- Explore for 5km: Encounter with Spritzee
To access the Safari Zone: Goyang Timed Research challenges, Trainers can navigate to the Today View category within the Event page in-app. Here, they can view all the challenges and claim each challenge’s rewards and the Timed Research event rewards. Additionally, Trainers can find the Field Research and Special Research Tasks within the Today View category from the Event page.
Completing the above-mentioned exploration Timed Research challenges will earn Trainers unique rewards. Not only will they earn 1,000 Stardust, which is vital for powering up Pokémon in PvP encounters, but they’ll get a bonus encounter with Spritzee with a possibility of encountering its Shiny form.
