Starly's Day has come to a close and now Niantic has announced the Galarian Zigzagoon Community Day for the month of August. Every month means a new Community Day for Trainers around the world, and this one looks like it'll be a huge hit with the Pokémon GO player base.
In general, Galar region Pokémon are fairly tough to get. They either appear in hatched 7km Eggs or they are featured in major events. Galarian Zigzagoon is certainly among the most desirable of the bunch, especially for Trainers who love to participate in the GO Battle League. Make sure to read ahead and get all the details about the upcoming event, including bonuses and shiny opportunities.
Pokémon GO Galarian Zigzagoon Community Day Details
The Galarian Zigzagoon Community Day will go live in Pokémon GO on August 13, 2022. That leaves less than a month before we can all expect another Community Day. The day will follow the new trend of three-hour days that start at 11 am local time and end at 2 pm local time.
Though the days end earlier than they used to, there will still be opportunities to take on Galarian Linoone in a four-star raid. In the past, defeating those four-star raids will result in additional spawns of the featured Pokémon around that gym for another 30 mins. That will return for this event and will end around 7 pm local time.

Anyone who manages to get a Galarian Linoone will be able to evolve it during the event hours for a special Obstagoon attack. Trainers who go through with the process will get a Dark-type Charge Attack called Obstruct. After the event, Elite Charge TMs will be required to get the move.
Along with the new move, there will be bonuses and a new Special Research ticket. The list of bonuses is listed below.
- 3x Catch Stardust.
- 2x Candy for catching Pokémon.
- Incense activated during the event will last for three hours.
- One additional Special Trade can be made for a total of three for the day.
- 2x chance for Trainers level 31 or above to receive XL candy for catching Pokémon.
- Lure Modules activated during the event will last for three hours.
- Trades made during the event and up to five hours afterward will require 50% less Stardust.
To make the most of these bonuses, there will be some in-person community meetups that are officially sponsored by Niantic. Unlike the specific GO Fest events, such as Seattle in July, there will be a handful of in-person community events that run from 11 am local time to 2 pm local time. These events will be scattered across the United States, Canada, Europe, and southern Asia. The full map can be found on the blog post from Niantic.
Another Special Research ticket in the name of Field Notes: Galarian Zigzagoon will be in the shop for $1.00. But there will also be a Timed Research challenge that rewards players with some new clothing based on the event. Special Research isn't required, but it might be an easy way to get a shiny Galarian Zigzagoon.
