The Pokémon Scarlet & Violet Teal Mask DLC is finally here, and along with introducing a ton of new locations and trainers to battle, a boatload of new and old Pokémon are returning in this expansion as well. One of the classic faces you will be pleased to see return is none other than the mischievous monkey, Aipom. This Pokémon can be found all over Kitakami, but you need to know where to look. Additionally, this Pokémon is a version exclusive, meaning if you've been hard at work trying to find one with no luck, you may be playing the wrong version of the game!
So, if you are curious to learn more, we have the answers you need. This is our guide on how to get Aipom and Ambipom in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet the Teal Mask DLC!
How To Get Aipom & Ambipom In Pokemon Scarlet and Violet The Teal Mask DLC
First and foremost, if you're playing Pokemon Scarlet, you're out of luck. Unfortunately, Aipom is a version exclusive to Pokemon Violet. This means Pokemon Scarlet players will need to trade with a friend if they want access to this Pokemon.
Pokemon Violet players, on the other hand, can find wild AIpom in a number of different locations across Kitakami. These are as follows:
- Fellhorn Gorge
- Kitakami Hall
- Kitakami Wilds
- Mossfell Confluence
- Paradise Barrens
- Reveler's Road
- Timeless Woods
- Wistful Fields
- Tera Raid Battles: 3*
Once you have acquired your Aipom, you will need to level it up to level 32. At this time, Aipom will learn the move Double Hit. All that is needed to do after this is level up Aipom one more time while it still knows the move Double Hit, and it will evolve into Ambipom! Wild Ambipom cannot be found in the game but can appear in 5 and 6-Star Tera Raid battles.
Aipom and Ambipom have been left relatively unchanged from previous generations but can still be a powerful threat in competitive play. It's ability, Technician, boosts the power of moves with 60 Base Power or less, while its hidden ability, Skill Link, ensures that moves that attack 2-5 times will always hit 5 times. Pickup can also be a beneficial ability which has a 10% chance of finding and holding an item after a battle (but will only work if the Pokemon is not already holding an item during this time).
And that's our guide on how to find Aipom and Ambipom in the Teal Mask DLC.
