As of today, Phasmophobia's price will increase to $19.99 due to the amount of content and playtime added to the game since Early Access. This price increase is the first in the game's history, and was first announced back in July.
"We feel like this is a fair increase based on the amount of content and playtime added to the game since Early Access started almost four years ago," developers Kinetic Games explained in an X/Twitter post.
Fans seemed largely supportive of the change, given the large amount of content added to the game since release. Kinetic Games has added new ghost types and new maps, made massive changes to prestige and other gameplay elements, and even completely overhauled the equipment system. Developers still continue to add content prior to the game's upcoming console release.
Indeed, Phasmophobia is finally revving up for a console release in the next few months, after quite a few delays. The price release is likely related to the game's upcoming release on console, and will be the game's price point when it does finally reach Xbox and PlayStation.
