Phasmophobia has several permanent challenges for players to complete, earning you a pretty cool shiny new ID badge. One of those challenges is the Lighthouse Keeper, which requires you to venture up into Phasmophobia's creepy Point Hope Lighthouse and identify lots of ghosts. Here's your guide to completing the Lighthouse Keeper challenge in Phasmophobia.

Lighthouse Keeper Challenge Guide

To complete Phasmophobia's Lighthouse Keeper challenge, you'll need to correctly identify the ghost and survive 50 times in the Point Hope Lighthouse map. This seems difficult, but it's definitely doable over time. Playing with friends makes this challenge a lot easier - and a lot more fun - so we'd recommend it!

Point Hope Map

The Point Hope Map is unique in that it's largely vertical, meaning that you'll have to climb its many floors to locate the ghost room. There are ten floors, and each one can be a ghost room. In addition to the ten floors, the following rooms can also be a designated ghost room:

  • Entry Bathroom
  • Entry Hallway
  • Child Bedroom
  • Child Bedroom Hallway
  • Master Bedroom
  • Master Bedroom Hallway

Hiding Spots

There are eleven designated hiding spots on Point Hope. You'll likely want to familiarize yourself with most of them in case of a hunt. Here's all of Point Hope's hiding spots:

  • Lobby Bathroom, towards the very front of the map
  • Lobby Hallway, in the closet near the exit door
  • First Floor, small lighthouse tent
  • First Floor, closet near the living room entrance
  • First Floor, behind crate
  • Second Floor Kitchen, next to washer
  • Dining Room, behind boxes
  • Master Bedroom, behind the divider
  • Child Bedroom, closet
  • Maintenance Room, lockers
  • Lantern Room Bottom, behind the boxes near the stairs

Equipment

You can bring along any equipment you want when completing the Lighthouse Keeper challenge, so it's generally a good idea to bring along the best equipment you've got to Point Hope. If you've got Tier III items, you can pack up your loadout with them and use them for this challenge. You'll definitely want to bring along at least the standard loadout, including DOTS, Spirit Box, UV Light, Video Cameras, and a Ghost Writing Book.

Since this map can be somewhat challenging to traverse and the breaker box might be up on a higher floor, though, you'll likely also want to bring some Head Gear for illumination rather than a Tier III Flashlight.

You'll likely want to bring along a couple of Crucifixes to keep you safe and prevent the ghost from hunting. You should also bring along some Incense and a Lighter, just in case.

Difficulty Level

The Lighthouse Keeper challenge can be completed on any difficulty level, so you can play at whatever difficulty feels best for you. You can always start out on Amateur before making your way up to more challenging difficulty levels as you become more comfortable with finding the ghost room and surviving hunts.

Lighthouse Keeper Challenge Rewards

You'll complete the Lighthouse Keeper challenge as soon as you succesfully identify your 50th ghost on the Point Hope map. Upon completing the Lighthouse Keeper challenge, you'll earn yourself the Lighthouse Keeper ID badge! You can then equip your new reward, and move on to the Ranger Challenge or the Sunny Meadows Survival Challenge.
