Since the release of Palia's v0.186 update, the Season of Splendor developer Singularity 6 has added the last four quests for the Prologue quesline for Palians to complete and gain insight into future content additions in 2025. This begins with the next Adventure Zone, the Elderwood, which the developer has slated for release in early 2025, and the developer has set the stage for its release in these new quests.
But with the Prologue questline officially wrapped up, what can Palians do between the 0.186 update and the Elderwood's release? This is where this guide comes into play, as we've outlined a few in-game activities for Palians while they await the next Adventure Zone's release for Palia.
Before detailing some gameplay content that Palians can explore between now and early 2025, the information provided can apply to new and returning players across all available platforms, including the Nintendo Switch. Additionally, we have yet to determine when the game will fully launch as it's currently in its Open Beta state, and there are no updates from the developer on whether the game is heading to PlayStation and Xbox consoles.
Explore And Expand The World Lore Through Side Quests
With the Prologue questline completed, which the next main questline picks up in the Elderwood Adventure Zone, there are still quests available for Palians to discover in the open world and by interacting with the Villagers. As main quests are triggered by completing the previous quest in the chain, there are other quest subcategories to explore, like Discovery, Found Item, and, most importantly, Friendship and Romance quests, which we'll discuss later.
Discovery or Side quests are typically given to Palians during the main, Friendship, and Romance quests that are, at times, prerequisites for these main quests. Found Item quests require Palians to explore the open world to find unique locales and items to begin the quest; however, some do task them in using their Skills to complete them, which could also fall under Skill quests.
Lastly, there are Event quests, available for a limited time, and they're typically a part of seasonal updates like the Maji Market and Winterlights seasons. Likewise, Secret Puzzles usually do not appear in the Quest Log; however, discovery locales and items are what triggers them as they'll find clues littered across the Adventure Zones which they need to solve to complete them as there's a chance these are included in main quests too.
Learn The Villagers' Stories And Max Out The Villagers' Friendship & Relationship Levels
Friendship and Romance quests are unlocked by improving their Friendship and Relationship with all Villagers, including Subira, by speaking to them daily and gifting them their preferred Daily and Weekly Wants. This awards them Friendship and Relationship XP, which, once they complete their friendship and Relationship levels, they'll unlock the corresponding quests exploring the Villagers' backstories and can contribute to the overall lore of Palia.
To increase their Relationship levels with Villagers, they are usually provided with two options: flirt with them or gift either a Box of Chocolates, which can be bought from Zeki's General Store, or a Heartdrop Liliy once per real-world week, which can also be given to begin a Romance while flirting with Villagers are done once per Palian day. Once they've maxed out a Relationship level with a Villager, they'll receive the villager's Pin after the Romance level 4 quest, but not all Villagers can be romanced.
Regarding Friendship quests, Palians can raise their friendship level by chatting with the Villagers once per Palian day and gifting them Daily and Weekly Wants, which, once the level is complete, unlocks their corresponding Friendship quest. To determine which gifts Villagers dislike, like, and love, there is a handy third-party site called Palia Tracker, which helps them track their preferred gifts and whether they have gifted the Villagers.
Deepen Their Pockets By Earning Gold Solo Or In A Party
There are countless guides and videos on how Palians can earn Gold proactively and quickly; some are more feasible than other methods. Over the past year, we've seen multiple adjustments and optimizations to Gold acquisition, various Skills, animal drop rates, mining node respawns, and resources through numerous patch updates, which have significantly changed how Palians can earn a passive income in-game.
Following the 2024 Economy Update in the v0.180 patch in May 2024 brought much-needed balance in how Palians could best earn Gold. This was the subject of a fantastic YouTube video by JadeMist Gaming, which ran in-game tests and eloquently explained the best ways to earn Gold passively using only six of the eight Skills: Bug Catching, Cooking, Fishing, Gardening, Hunting and Mining, which can be best optimized by locations, through food buffs, equipment boosters and their tools, which Exquisite tools are highly recommended.
We advise Palians to watch JadeMist Gaming's video on "How To Make Money in Palia" following the economy changes in the v0.180 patch update; the best ways to earn Gold as a solo player is through Cooking and Cake parties in a party with Fishing and Hunting in Bahari Bay close behind while Gardening remains the most passive way to earn Gold per harvest cycle. We will update our comprehensive guide to earning Gold in Palia to best reflect the changes made to Palia post-v0.180 patch update and the updated list of the best ways to earn Gold for new and returning players.
Earn Skill Medals By Completing Weekly Challenges
There are eight Skills for Palians to learn and master by using them during quests, in the open world, and while on their Housing Plot. There are Skill quests at the start of the Prologue questline for Palians to best understand each Skill; using them grants them Skill XP, and completing each level awards Renown and other items like Skill Medals.
Skill Medals are unlocked at level 10 for each Skill, granting them access to a unique set of Accomplishments called Weekly Challenges. Palians will have access to three Weekly Challenges to complete by meeting their objectives to earn Skill Medals, as these Accomplishments rest every Monday at 4 am UTC, and incomplete challenges carry their progress into the new week.
With the introduction of Home Tours in the v0.184 update, there are Home Tour-related Weekly Challenges to complete, and they can be found in the Accomplishments tab from the Character profile menu. Completing them awards Palians with Home Tour Tickets, used to buy unique items from the Home Tours Store by interacting with the Home Tours Board on their Housing Plot.
Achieve The Impossible Through Accomplishments
As mentioned in the previous section, Accomplishments, Palia's in-game Achievement system, these challenges are attained by reaching specific milestones in-game. These are usually unlocked by completing exploration tasks, reaching max Friendship and Romance levels with Villagers, crafting all Furniture sets, finding regional treasure chests, and more, which awards them various trophies and Renown.
Regarding the trophies, these are mainly earned by completing Skill-based Accomplishments, which earns them the Bronze, Silver, and Gold trophies, various decor items, and Renown. The best way to progress on these Skill-based Accomplishments is by doing Weekly Challenges, which can be found below the Accomplishments tab from the Character Profile tab when in-game, which they can earn Skill Medals from completing.
However, some Accomplishments are hidden, like the Waaaay Under the Table Accomplishment, which isn't viewed through the Accomplishments tab in-game. All it requires is luck to complete them by chance (or view the Steam Achievements) to net themselves some Renown for fulfilling their requirements.
Visit The Night Sky Temple To Complete Vault Bundles
While exploring the Prologue questline, Palians will encounter four Ancient Human Ruins, namely the Temple of the Waves, Flames, Gales, and Roots, each with its corresponding temple questline to progress the main story. Once they've completed every temple questline, this unlocks a vault within another Ancient Human Ruin, the Night Sky Temple northwest of Kilima Village in Leafhopper Hills, where each vault contains four unique bundles to fulfill.
Most bundles are themed, which requires Palians to use various Skills like Bug Catching, Fishing, Hunting, and Mining to acquire resources to fill each bundle, which typically requires four items. However, a few exceptions, like the Emberseeker's, Rootseeker's, and Stormseeker Bundles, require finding their corresponding Medallions inside Treasure Chests to complete these bundles.
Some items are more challenging to get, like certain Bugs and Fish species whose spawning rates can make catching them more frustrating for most players. Nevertheless, once all vault bundles are completed, additional rewards exist, such as decor items to place on the Housing Plot.
Seek Out Treasure With Chests & Rummage Piles
Staying on exploration-related tasks, Singularity 6 launched Rummage Piles with the v0.172 update first available in Kilima Village before it was later added to Bahari Bay in the v0.180 update. These interactable gameplay additions have permanent locations throughout Kilima Village and Bahari Bay but will randomly spawn at one of these locations every real-life day; searching through these Chaapa-made piles contains various items from Furniture blueprints, forageable items, equipment, Quest items, and the Cyl the Green Cylinder Plush.
A third-party site helps Palians find the exact location of the daily Rummage Pile in Kilima Village and Bahari Bay, and another one keeps track of items they may have discovered in Rummage Piles. But once they've searched through the Rummage Piles, they can continue exploring these Adventure Zones for Treasure Chests, typically found in hard-to-reach places, seasonal events like Maji Market and Winterlights, and through Fishing, which is how they can get Waterlogged Chests.
There are two Accomplishments related to finding Treasure Chests in Kilima Village and Bahari Bay, from which they can earn related achievements and new decor items. There will likely be future Treasure Chest Accomplishments once more Adventure Zones are released, including The Elderwood region launching in early 2025.
Collect 'Em All By Tracking Down All Plushies
Since we've mentioned Cyl the Green Cylinder Plush, which is acquired from the Bahari Bay Rummage Piles, there are other Plushies that Palians can get through various tasks. These collectibles are decor items that can be placed anywhere on their Housing Plot, or they can take advantage of the Plush Trading mechanic to exchange redundant Plushies they've acquired with other Palians in-game.
This Plush Trading mechanic requires Palians to complete the Trading Tips quest which they'll earn the trading permit that can be used to trade Plushies with other Palians. These trading booths are located at the Underground Black Market below Zeki's General Store, where they can signal with the Come Here emote and the in-game Chat mechanic to initiate a potential owner for the Plushies.
There are at least 40 Plushies available for Palians to collect and add to their Collection; some are easier to get than others, especially when using specific Skills in the open world. These Plushies can be acquired through various means such as the aforementioned Rummage Piles, hunting Chapaas, Sernuk, and Muujin, catching various bugs and quests, as well as obtained as Login Rewards, Twitch Drops, or through the in-game Mail system.
Challenge Oneself By Participating In Minigames
If Palians are looking to challenge themselves in other ways, a few minigames available in Palia can be rewarding in various ways. The first is the obstacle course called The Tower, which can be accessed by interacting with the broken arcade machine inside the Underground Black Market, where they must traverse across five levels to complete it.
Treasure Chests are scattered throughout The Tower to find where to earn the Tower Climber Accomplishment for their efforts after reaching the top level. Other than The Tower obstacle course, the Rage Against the Arcade Machine demo cabinets are also found at the Underground Black Market and inside Zeki's home; if they get the top score of 100, they'll earn the Heavy Metal Chaapa Trophy for their hard work and determination to surpass this feat.
Lastly, there are Hotpot Card minigame tables also found at the Underground Black Market, where they can earn Prize Wheel Coins that are redeemed at the Prize Wheel in the same area. Palians stand a chance of winning various Prize Bags like Fireworks, Ingredients, and Plushie bags, which contain random items once they're opened from their Backpack Inventory.
Improve Your Home With Upgrades, Wallpapers & Flooring Options
Lastly, if they're seeking something more constructive to do once they've completed the main quests, then working on their Housing Plot may be the activity to do. They'll receive their Housing Plot at the start of the game, and as they progress with the Prologue quest and various Skills, they'll be able to unlock the Harvest House and various Building Add-On structures available at the City Hall.
Across multiple patches, the developer has optimized this feature, allowing Palians to have numerous houses on a single plot; Palians can unlock more plots by spending Gold, which can unlock various related items like the Gazebo, Wallpapers, and Accomplishments. On the subject of wallpaper, there are multiple of these specific decor items to acquire from Tish's Furniture Store, the Underground Black Market, and most Villagers and event shops, and the same can be said for Flooring options, too.
Don't forget to utilize and mix and match various furniture pieces to decorate their indoor and outdoor spaces along with Flowers and Trees and, of course, Plushies, which they can place their beautifully designed and unique creations on the Home Tours system. Doing so allows Palians to submit one plot weekly, which they can view the reactions they've received from visitors, which counts as progress towards unlocking unique Nameplates based on these reactions.
