2025 is just a few days old; already, plenty of rumors and leaks surround Nintendo's upcoming console release, the Nintendo Switch 2, which began making their rounds online. Thus far, multiple reports have alleged details on the Switch 2 Joy-Con controls, images of which have been circulating online, and rumors about a handful of Switch-released games gaining upgrades for Switch 2.

Similarly, a new Switch 2 rumor has found its way online as a third-party game, which has reportedly been in development for the forthcoming console; however, there is no confirmation from Nintendo to verify this leak. This is based on information discovered and shared in a video by YouTuber Doctre 81 and later reported on by Universonintendo, which both the video and the report went viral last weekend.

According to the reporting from Universonintendo, Warner Bros. Games is rumored to be developing a Switch 2 version of the action RPG Gotham Knights. The game was first released in 2022 for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S; however, PS4 and Xbox One ports were initially planned but were eventually canceled while a Switch port was leaked in 2023.

The YouTuber pointed out a key detail that a developer had posted to their LinkedIn profile: that they had worked on Gothan Knights for an "unreleased platform" until March 2023, which may be Switch 2. As mentioned previously, a Switch port for Gotham Knights was reportedly leaked online via a Korean game ratings website; however, this ultimately never happened until now as WB Games may have been pivoting towards a Switch 2 port release instead, but no confirmation from Nintendo nor WB Games as of writing.

Another leak also speculates that Hello Games may be working on developing a Switch 2 game upgrade for their action-adventure survival game No Man's Sky. Likewise, Hello Games has yet to confirm this rumor as Nintendo has yet to officially announce the Switch 2 console, which is being reported to be unveiled to the general public "within this fiscal year," according to Nintendo's president Shuntaro Furukawa during the press conference after they had published their recent earnings results in November 2024.
